Title: Incorrect score reporting at Lynah tonight
Post by: sah67 on February 03, 2007, 10:12:06 PM
Unfortunately, Arthur incorrectly reported one of the scores tonight at Lynah.  For those of you at the game tonight elated to hear about Clarkson getting swept, they actually won 2-1 at 'Gate.  I wonder who was feeding Arthur his info.

Apologies for the incorrect score. I just read what I'm given (see attached). One person in the pressbox calls around to the various game sites for score updates, then that person calls another person at the scorer's table and relays the information. The person at the scorer's table writes the scores down and hands the sheet to me, and I read what's there. Obviously, the process broke down somewhere.

No worries Arthur...we knew it was no fault of yours.

I saw some "highlights" from the Clarkson/Colgate game on a local news broadcast.  Any idea why Clarkson wore their home uniforms (with names on the back) at Colgate?  Did they have a laundry accident on Friday night?

SLU also wore their home whites at Colgate on Friday...I believe (according to the Colgate USCHO.com threat) Colgate was unveiling a new third color jersey, and wanted to do it at home, but it didn't seem all that different from their standard road jerseys.

Heh.  a bunch of us were standing around in section C after a game one time, and the phone in the press box rang about 10 times, so I finally answered it.  It was some other rink, wanting to know our score, so I told them.  After I hung up, I realized that I should have said it was Cornell 12-0....  ::uptosomething::

So yeah, I can see how the wrong info gets passed around sometimes.  :)

Last time Cornell scored 12 was 1977-78.  Hit double figures nine times that year.::banana::

The Raider uniforms were indeed the third jersey.  Funny that the following day after the St. Lawrence game they were being sold in the Colgate bookstore.  Ahhh the lure of the almighty dollar, wait who do they sell those things to again on the Colgate campus??

And they really are not that different from their road jerseys, now the UNH third jerseys with the Wildcat on the front and the light brown color scheme, those are different.
