Middle of the 2nd right now being broadcast by Rogers Sportsnet. I'm watching on NESN.
Supposedly Planet USA was up 2-0, but in the few minutes I have been watching, Canada scored twice against some pretty weak defense to take a 4-2 lead.
The new uni's don't look bad when they are combined with solid colors and only a horizontal stripe above the hem. I didn't even realize they were wearing the new ones until they interviewed someone from Reebok and mentioned it.
The host segued to the Reebok rep by jokingly saying maybe all of the goals are a result of the new designs.
I couldn't stand the Nike designs, but these look fine.
College players of note:
Brett Sterling just had a beauty break-away goal off a perfect two-line pass feed with 1.7 seconds left in the 2nd.
Noah (Sucks) Welch is listed as a starter. I haven't noticed him in the 2nd period. I didn't watch the 1st.
Unfortunately, no former Cornell players on either roster.
Not that anyone really cares, and I really only turned this on to get a hockey fix and hope a Cornell alum was playing, but:
Planet USA scored on a rebound from a 2-on-1 break with only 3 seconds left in the 3rd to win 7-6.
Brett Sterling wins the MVP in his first year with 2 goals and an assist.

I think Welch was just called up to the Pens.

To recap:
Called up Jan 11
Sent down Jan 22
Called up Jan 26
Sent down Jan 29
I know I was feverishly waving my miniature PUSA flag when we took down those Commie Canadians!
Noah Welch sucks.
That is all.

Hey, how many goals did you ever score for the other team?
