Harvard's gone messing around in other people's yards again.  Going to be even more angry Allstonians if Boston really allows 50 years of construction.  This will make our little sapsucker woods dispute look like a pre-school tussle.

Sapsucker Woods?  Or do you mean that POS vacant lot on West Campus?

I don't know all the details, but there seems to be some sort of development vs. preservation controversy with the Sapsucker Woods area.  The preservation activists had a booth at the Apple Harvest Festival on the Commons in the fall.

Ah thanks - hadn't seen that one.

From a casual perusal, the basic dispute seems to be:

Developers: we'd like to build homes on 18 acres that is currently forested.

Town Board: Okay.

Protesters: But they're building homes on 18 acres that is currently forested.

Town Board: Um, yeah - we already knew that.
