[edit fixing to correct that Cornell moves up not down one place] Tie and a big win raise Cornell one place, to No. 12 and still tops among ECACHL teams. Alas, just three ECAC teams make the polls.

Uh... "big win"? They creamed a team they should have creamed, and tied a team they should at least have beaten easily. The drop doesn't surprise me at all.

We also moved up one spot in USA Today.

NoDak lost 7 times.. and is a top ten team?

Cornell losing to Wayne State and still being a top fifteen team is equally if not more baffling. North Dakota plays a pretty tough schedule. They beat the hell out of Quinnipiac twice so they should certainly be ranked if Cornell is.

Western bias. :-D

Well, they did beat the US Under-18s in OT.
French, are you the only other one who noticed the lack of reading comprehension?
For those of you keeping score at home, Cornell moved UP one spot, from 13th last week to 12th this week.

Nah, I noticed too, but was in too much of a hurry to read the "Peck the Sieve" thread to comment earlier.

How many times have they beat Canisius?

Only 4, but they'll round it out to 10 by the season's end.

Also, it wasn't specified which poll this is. I'm familiar enough with the polls to know that the one that ranks Top 15 is USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine.

Then the fact that we moved up should really be shocking.

I'd like to point out that I, probably like most of the others who made this mistake, didn't look at the actual poll results from both weeks, but relied on Bill's faulty interpretation:
Tie and a big win drop Cornell one place, from No. 12 to No. 13
The point has been made and acknowledged. I still wouldn't be surprised if we had dropped one place.
Cheers,
