Title: scrivens
Post by: hiphopapotomus on November 26, 2006, 11:53:40 AM
coach should put in scrivens. He is a solid netminder. He rivals davenport easily. If he were played they would find they have two amazing goaltenders. To bad the coach is an ignorant fool.

Are you the guy who was standing in front of me yelling "go Scrivens" the entire game? Even when the puck was in the offensive zone?

The rhymenocerous isn't as controversial a commentator.

Excuse my naiveté, but can anyone explain the rationale behind why Scrivens got the loss for the Saturday game against WSU?  I know he played the vast majority of the game (about 45 minutes), but he came in with a 3-goal deficit, and we never got ahead or even tied it.  In baseball, that loss would have gone to the starter.

The goalie to whom the win or loss isn't determined by number of minutes or whether a deficit was overcome or not; it's very simply determined by who was in net when the winning goal was scored.

Yeah, it basically comes down to game-winning (GW) vs last lead (LL).  If we lose 5-4, the fifth goal is the game-winner, which is what counts for goalie stats.  In baseball, last lead is the determining factor.

This also means that the GWG for Dartmouth against us was the empty-netter. ::uhoh::

For which Davenport still gets the "credit" for the loss, since there was no goalie substitution.

Thanks for your input, Mrs. Scrivens!

Is no one else dismayed at this person's disrespect toward one of the best coaches in all of college hockey? Schafer recruited Scrivens, so if he is really a bad coach, what does that say about Scrivens' abilities?
