Not sure if this was posted anywhere else... From this week's ECAC preview:
[Q]Then there are the rampant and always entertaining Message Board posts about the rivalry. If you believe everything that is typed, you now know that Sam Paolini's mother won the 50-50 raffle at last February's game, you think that the Harvard coaching staff has been trying desperately to move the game to a neutral site and that the movie Love Story was a work of "Satan or his closest corporeal counterpart."[/Q]

Silly Jason and Becky. Don't they realize that it's Sam's DAD who always wins. By my count, he's won the 50-50 at least 103 times. ::nut::
There is absolutely zero doubt in my mind that it was "Diane Paolini from Rochester" who won the 50/50. I don't know if it was the Harvard game or the Brown game though.
Yes, Sam Paolini Senior won earlier in the season I believe. Or maybe it was the previous year. But both of Sam's parents have definitely won it, as was pointed out in this classic post from last season:

I have also worked out the scenarios which would have to unfold for us to not get home ice:
(1) Underhill and Leneveu kill each other in a duel.
(2) Todd Marr is incapacitated in a zamboni accident, leaving Jan Pajerski to step in and play goal.
(3) Schafer comes down with a near fatal case of amoebic dysentary.
(4) Doug Murray is deported.
(5) Stephen Bâby leaves the team to play small forward for the Chicago Bulls.
(6) Sam Paolini realizes he can drop out of school and live off his parents' 50/50 raffle winnings.
Even if all of these things happened, there is still a good chance that we could beat Vermont and lock up home ice.[/Q]
