Title: No (now yes) All-access for harvard
Post by: upperdeck on November 07, 2006, 10:05:29 AM
people might want to take note there is no all-access for the harvard game since it is on TV... Not very well thought out in my opinion since given the choice who is going to watch it on the computer if they dont have to..

Have you heard this from CSTV?  When we were on CSTV last year they just used that feed for All-Access.

Well, it's a good thing I'll be at the game and not in Germany trying to watch. ::cuss::

It looks like the reason is that certain games are pay-per-view on CSTV's site: http://www.cstv.com/cstvppv/hockey/ . So it's $14.95 to watch the Cornell/Harvard game online.

I think I've been pretty patient with CSTV. Promised help from tech support has never come so I've resigned myself to being only able to access the feeds on my secondary computer. Then there's the long stretches or whole games that fail to come through. But, if what Avash says is true, to now exclude the most desired game on the Cornell sports calendar from the All Access package is outrageous.  (And, for what it is worth, this doesn't even impact me since I'll be at the game and, if not, get CSTV on my tv. But I still think it stinks on principle.)

I just opened the crappy flash player and I'm seeing a watch link next to the listen and gametracker links for Cornell vs Sucks, 11/10, pre-game at 7:30..yadda yadda. Granted, this isn't meant to be a comment about the usual quality of service...

Maybe you saw the listing for Cornell @ Sucks in Feb (which is listed at the top for whatever illogical reason)?

That's fucking horrible, charging people who are already paying for their service a premium (which, it would seem, wasn't publicized before just now).

For those people that haven't signed up for all-access, take a look at http://www.max-tv.be/?go=maxtv (click the Téléchargez MaxTV Online to download it)

Its a french IPTV application that has CSTV as one of its channels. I tried it out and the video quality is pretty decent.

What a week!  Bush is checked and balanced rather than "fair and balanced" and the French are bringing me Cornell hockey...
