Re: Cornell lacrosse 2018 - 7 years ago
Note that Syracuse did not see Christian Knight when we played them last. Bullen started since Knight was out due to injury. This should be a potential advantage for us.by margolism - Other Sports

I was there with my son on Sunday. The Yale fans sitting near us came across as a bit rude and cocky at first, and peaking once Yale was up by two. From that point they got progressively more quiet, and were near silent in the second half. The Pulver long distance goal drained any hope and enthusiasm they had remaining.by margolism - Other Sports

Based on trends, won’t be until 2028 that Princeton wins another ECAC title.by margolism - Hockey

Galajda named ECAC goaltender of the year. I would have to imagine that this would remove Colton Point out of the running for ECAC player of the year. One would think.by margolism - Hockey

We have 15 on our roster with 10 or more points, they have 8.by margolism - Hockey

I would take scoring distribution among many players any day over two or three players with gaudy points totals.by margolism - Hockey

Re: Cornell football 2017 - 7 years ago
Cornell was in control of its destiny this past season after wins against Harvard and Princeton. If it weren’t for injuries sustained by key offensive players the record may have been stronger and more indicative of sustained improvement.by margolism - Other Sports

The odds were slim that we (or anyone) would win out the rest of their games. I'll take the loss now. I would rather take a teachable loss now, than say, in the NCAA tournament.by margolism - Hockey

Re: Colgate vs. Cornell home-and-home 1/19-20 - 7 years ago
Note that two of our draft picks - Tshantz and Cairns - are not regular players in the lineup. So we aren't even consistently playing with all our NHL draft picks. Similarly, look at all the blue chip 1st and 2nd round draft picks on the BU team. On paper, BU should be a top 4 team.by margolism - Hockey

JasonN95 BearLover JasonN95 Swampy snert1288 Matt Galajda with back to back shut outs and a scoreless streak just over 160 minutes (and counting). Very impressive for this freshman against a good Colgate team. The wins are most important but I love the sense of quality goaltending continuing in to our future. I believe he just tied David McKee's record of six shutouts for a freshman. Traditiby margolism - Hockey
Re: On Cornell leaving the Florida College Classic - 7 years ago
Having attended the tournament once or twice, including the Cornell-Providence game, attendance didn't appear that great. I think the idea of playing something in Canada is a great idea. And from a recruiting standpoint, I believe there are more Canadian prospects than Floridian prospects, Ferlin notwithstanding.by margolism - Hockey
Re: Red Hot Hockey, 11/25/17 - 7 years ago
Not only is their goaltender a 1st round draft pick, but their defensive corp consists of a 1st round draft pick, a 2nd round pick, and multiple 3rd round picks. You would think that they should be leading the nation in defense with that group. Then look at us - seems like, with few exceptions, most of our core players are not NHL draft picks. Seems like recruiting (pretty good) kids thaby margolism - Hockey
