Re: Cornell lacrosse 2021 - 3 years ago
The posted roster now shows a bunch of people no longer there (like incoming frosh CJ Kirst.) Similarly, some players that didn't appear in the fall are now on the roster - like Jeff Teat. Not sure how to interpret all of this.by margolism - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2021 - 3 years ago
From Inside Lacrosse: As Cornell was set to begin instruction for the Spring 2021 term on Monday, Big Red head Connor Buczek sent a letter to supporters of Cornell Lacrosse notifying recipients that the team's status still has no definitive answer, but that a group of players will take a leave of absence in order to play another season at Cornell. Supporters of Cornell Lacrosse, I know mby margolism - Other Sports

Re: 2020-21 Season *Officially* Delayed - 3 years ago
Beyond forcing them to enter the transfer portal to play as grad students, it limits their grad school educational opportunities. With a few exceptions, most of the schools with college hockey teams, other than the Ivys, are not exceptional institutions when it comes to graduate programs. Perhaps Michagan, Wisconsin, Notre Dame are exceptions here. If education is truly a priority, then allowby margolism - Hockey

Beeeej And the senior class for whatever season we might still have in 2020-21 gets smaller and less impressive. Still better than all the early departures at Sucks.by margolism - Hockey

Didn't get much better for H. Cornell adds 6 more in Q4. Harvard scores 4 in Q4 as well, but it seemed like Cornell was playing a lot of reserves on D.by margolism - Other Sports

From the Cornell Sun today: Injury report: Sophomore defenseman Cody Haiskanen is out for the year, while freshman forward Max Andreev is likely to remain out until at least the beginning of the playoffs. Re: 2019-01-14 #20 Cornell at Princeton - 5 years ago
The no penalties against us certainly was huge since Princeton converts on a third of their PP opportunities. I don’t recall seeing a game where the penalty boxes didn’t get occupied at least once.by margolism - Hockey

Cornell men's hockey will get a number of inured players back as it takes on Princeton and No. 3/5 Quinnipiac this weekend. Assoc. HC Ben Syer said today senior D Brendan Smith is expected to play, sophomore D Alex Green not expected to play.— Raphy Gendler (@raphy_gendler) January 3, 2019by margolism - Hockey

Re: Cornell-Harvard at MSG - 5 years ago
The only hope I have is that we will be a better, more determined team once we are are at full strength - we still have four players out, and four important ones, including two of our best Ds. I have to imagine that the reshuffling of lines to accommodate for their absences has played a part in our performance to a certain extent. Plus, we are overworking our healthy Ds and top players, so theyby margolism - Hockey

Schafer was pretty pissed with the team in his post game comments. “Disappointing. Really disappointing, how we played tonight,” said head coach Mike Schafer ’86. “That’s the least physical I’ve ever seen a Cornell team play in a game against Harvard. “No life on the bench. … How could you be lifeless in this type of game?” Schafer said of his team in front of 14,132 at Madison Square Gardeby margolism - Hockey
Re: 2018-11-02: Cornell vs Yale - 5 years ago
Crazy looking at the USCHO stats. Yes, a sample of three in a long season is not indicative, but strange to see us near the bottom in terms of defense, goaltending, penalty kill, etc. Galajda really didn't get much time, and even less work, in the exhibition games. This may have led to his subpar performance against Michigan State. He looked much better last night, and the team didn't surreby margolism - Hockey
