dag14 How do you people remember this stuff? I am not sure what I had for breakfast this morning. I covered that game as a student and the postgame interviews (not so much the fight itself) have always stuck in my brain. Burt’s version was that he declined an offer to fight and that prompted Shtrom to say something along the lines of “Well, let’s go then.” (Too lazy to look up the story but iby Weder - Hockey

Trotsky So, Hollwood uses Harvard and Princeton to indicate privilege and Yale and MIT to indicate intelligence. What are they conveying when they connect a character to Cornell? Is it "smart but relateable"? Smart but did not live up to their potential (or did not have the right connections). jtwcornell91 Iceberg TrotskyOTOH, the most serious students I've ever seen at any school are Community College students, because they're paying out of their own pocket. If you're studying Philosophy at a CC it's because you fucking want it. it's not just a credential you're picking up between frat parties on your way to working at Dad's firm. New ticket plans - 1 year ago
They're going full on with tiered ticket prices for different sections and within sections, and it looks like they'll start selling alcohol at Lynah. (LOL at the seats above the scoreboard being the most expensive.) These prices also imply that a pretty steep increase for single-game tickets is coming.by Weder - Hockey

Iceberg Weder Ray was among a small number of players in men's team history of Asian descent. The others I can think of from recent years were Dustin Mowrey and Misha Song. Any others? Noah Bauld? And I remember Mowrey. Very cool and down to earth guy whom I shared a few classes with Oh, right. I knew there was someone else who was a regular in the lineup and also more recent than Mowrey.by Weder - Hockey

underskill scoop85 Special delivery for Bearlover For inquiring minds, the history of the NCAA tournament demonstrates that having high NHL draft picks--or even many draft picks period--does not translate into NCAA hockey championships. If you’re stacking your team with enough overagers that should be in the AHL. I think ideally one or two game breaking draft picks would be beneficial thoughby Weder - Hockey

The answer is almost certainly no, but would the university ever consider building a much smaller football stadium? During covid, they've held multiple graduation ceremonies to keep crowd sizes down, and this has the added benefit of allowing students to invite as many people as they want to see the ceremony instead of scrambling to get more than the allotted 4 (or whatever it was) in the pre-panby Weder - Other Sports

billhoward arugula They were announcing from their basements. Didn’t realize ESPN was doing it this way. They seemed disengaged and quint was absolutely refusing to take the bait and give Cornell due credit despite his partners prompting. Par for the course I guess. We're seeing cost concerns at work. Pretty sure ethe blame for this goes to athletics; when section c went to the townies in the late 80s or whenever it was, there was no longer a cheer starter type in lower c to conduct everything The Cby Weder - Hockey

ugarte Ken711 upprdeck I would think that he would need to make 3-4x his cornell money to be even in costs in NJ.. maybe he likes this lifestyle up here?? The opportunity to coach at your alma mater and the prestige of the Princeton name in recruiting may be too much to turn down if offered a chance, regardless of the salary. scoop85 RichH arugula Any comments on the Malinski and Mitchell rating, as opposed to broad commentary on the state of online journalism? I think it speaks well of Coach that he once again gets undrafted players and gets the best out of them. Both guys, particularly Malinski, have been excellent. 2. Sam Malinski, RHD, Cornell-ECAC: Malinski has been a top defenseman in college this season. He has excellent playmaking ability. He makes a lot of difficult passes in the offensive zone and has the ability to run a pro power play with his vision and shot. His skating is solid too and he can create with his skill and feet. I hadn't looked at the roster page in a while, and it shows that five of the seven players who entered as freshmen in 2020 are listed as sophomores this season. I'd heard that a few players -- notably Gillis Frechette -- didn't enroll during the season when the Ivies didn't play, but I didn't realize it was (apparently) that many.
