Re: Next BU game - 16 years ago
KeithKThe question then is whether BU and Cornell are guaranteed to be good match-ups every year. There's rankings good and there's box office good. I can see an MSG match-up doing well year-in and year-out, regardless of how good the teams are. This year, for example, both are unranked.by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: Dan Nicholls Named ECAC Rookie of the Week - 16 years ago
sah67But still...if only the band had some sort of instrument to replicate a freight-train whistle for everytime Nicholls is "locked on" to someone. There's one at Cheel we could "borrow."by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: 2003 game at MSG? - 16 years ago
From here: March 1, 2003 - Quinnipiac University defeats the University of Connecticut 4-3 in the first college hockey game played at Madison Square Garden since 1977by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: Cornell - BU Postgame Party - 16 years ago
Returning to the original intent of the thread, are there any souls who'd like to do something in NYC after the game that, oh I dunno, doesn't involve partying? The way I figure it is this: 1. I've never been in NYC overnight, which is saying something, since I grew up on L.I. and am older than dirt. 2. It's allegedly the City that Never Sleeps. 3. We have a large number NYC natives andby Trotsky - Hockey
Re: Cornell/BU Thanksgiving (11/24) Ticket Info - 16 years ago
ugarteRutgers is such a strange bird. Rutgers used to be private but, so New Jersey didn't have to create a legitimate state university system from scratch, the state bought it.Very similar to what happened with Lowell Tech a decade ago, when Massachusetts bought it and reduced it to UML. Edit: two decades. God, I am older than dirt.by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: Sucks 2, BU 1 (OT) - 16 years ago
Al DeFlorioscoop85But was it really a lousy effort, with BU outshooting Harvard 40-20? I didn't see the game, but my understanding is that BU controlled large stretches of the contest. I'm not sure that it matters what you or I or Molly think. Here's what Parker had to say as quoted on USCHO: "In general, I thought BU got what they deserved tonight,” Parker said “It looked like it was aby Trotsky - Hockey

DeltaOne81I think you just guaranteed it lives in perpetuity.Yep. That was the equivalent of the little kid telling his tormentors to STOP TALKING ABOUT MY SISTER!by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: Dan Nicholls Named ECAC Rookie of the Week - 16 years ago
ugarteIf not, why don't we call it a "policy" and stop pretending that the conference doesn't realize that there is something logically inconsistent about how they give out the awards. Nobody thinks the conference doesn't know what it's doing. Let me rephrase that. Nobody thinks the conference doesn't know what it's doing in this instance. What we enjoy pointing out, every year rigby Trotsky - Hockey
Re: Dan Nicholls Named ECAC Rookie of the Week - 16 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82Not gonna happen. Too much desire to spread the wealth. If you make a freshman "POTW", how can you make a different freshman "FOTW?" Oh wait. I'm being logical. Never mind. It's worse than that. The ECAC has name a freshman goalie (Gustafson) POTW, and then different players GOTW and FOTW. If you can figure out how that makes sense, let me know.by Trotsky - Hockey

Chris '03- Boo the band for not playing love story at the start of the second. The band played Love Story prior to the opening lineups. Isn't then when they always play it?by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: Harvard Crimson Pays Respects to Lynah East Faithful - 16 years ago
jtwcornell91Jesus, it's two hours and change from Cambridge to New Haven, and the football game is at noon. And truly dedicated Harvard fan could easily make the trip down in the morning, or, hell, even after the hockey game. They have to be in New Haven by dusk. It takes time to get a date drunk on sloe gin fizzes.by Trotsky - Hockey

Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 16 years ago
It's pretty sad that they'd rather limit their attendance and forgo the concessions sales than let Cornell fans buy Harvard students' tickets. if the Harvard undergrads want to make some drug money scalping to us, let em.by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: Harvard-Dartmouth Roll Call - 16 years ago
Mike is 9-3 at Lynah East. The only conference road RS site he's better at is Brown. (His worst site is Dartmouth.) Go Red!by Trotsky - Hockey

One of the great moments of the last decade of Cornell hockey. And that's saying something.by Trotsky - Hockey

Re: Harvard-Dartmouth Roll Call - 16 years ago
ajec1After a week of R&R (aka a Saturday full of Columbia football and the basketball home opener), the Pep Band returns to full strength for Harvard Given that the Harvard band, and much of its crowd, will be heading to New Haven for The Game, Lynah East may well be just that Friday.by Trotsky - Hockey
