Cornell 2 Yale 2, postgame - 16 years ago
Third straight 2-2 tie with Yale at Lynah. Could have been a win, with some luck; more to the point, it could have been a loss, without some luck. I'll take it. Helluva night for the Greening line.by Trotsky - Hockey
Re: Yale 2 at Cornell 2, final - 16 years ago
lynah80Not a bad game, just not enough intensity by the Big Red.They had some strong moment, especially on kill. This could easily have been a loss -- a 3-point weekend is just fine.by Trotsky - Hockey

Jim HylaTrotsky RPI stayed in until late against Clarkson tonight -- the Knights can be beaten both in Ithaca and Albany. Well, I hope we don't have to find out if Clarkson can be beaten in Ithaca, I'd hate to have to meet them in the quarters.Ithaca, Potsdam -- what's the difference?by Trotsky - Hockey

Al DeFlorioTrotskyAccording to the 1987 edition of the Cornell Hockey Record Book, ed. Arthur Mintz, in 1961-62, on only 29 chances for the season, Cornell scored 5 PPG and gave up 10 SHG. Cornell was 20-8 that year, so I have to assume that's a typo. According to the 2007-08 press guide--and my memory, having watched that team--the 1961-62 team was 13-5.Not if you count the Ivy games twice.by Trotsky - Hockey

ACMNo, Cornell scored 10 shorthanded goals. In that case, the 58-59 team may have turned the trick, outscored 6-5 on their PP, but records from then are still suspect. The 69-70 team was only outscored 17-8 when shorthanded, not bad at all, and outscored their opponents 44-1 on PP!.by Trotsky - Hockey

Re: Brown at Cornell postgame - 16 years ago
RichHYale will be a better test than this Brown team. Also, it's the second game of the weekend, when Cornell has had letdowns. A win would be indicative that the team is coming together and can be a serious contender. RPI stayed in until late against Clarkson tonight -- the Knights can be beaten both in Ithaca and Albany. The Union loss is looking less and less bad. Other than that, Corneby Trotsky - Hockey

Great first period. When you're playing a clearly inferior team, get ahead early so they lose interest. So far so good.by Trotsky - Hockey

Re: Tech 4 Cornell 2 (Post-Game Thread) - 16 years ago
Tom LentoIf you want NHL caliber talent to run two lines deep, you'll have to transfer to Michigan or Minnesota. Seriously, Cornell just doesn't get that kind of recruiting depth, and hasn't for well over 10 years. Cornell wins when they have a hardworking team of lunchpail players all doing their best within the system. Cornell wins a lot when they have that plus a number of top echelon colleby Trotsky - Hockey
Re: Tech 4 Cornell 2 (Post-Game Thread) - 16 years ago
amerks127Are they going to step it up and have a real shot at winning in Albany, or will this season ultimately become one of "we just didn't have the talent"?I was with you until the last sentence. IMHO this team has an abundance of talent. Maturity and experience are what's lacking.by Trotsky - Hockey

lynah80I lost my Redcast audio connection. Anyone else connected? The feed was still live, but the mics cut off or something -- you could hear ambient noise but not Jason. The Clarkson feed is tinny but better than nothing.by Trotsky - Hockey
