Re: Not a goal? - 12 years ago
Just got back from the game. The officiating was horrendous. Yes, Cornell did its own part in the loss by failing to capitalize on scoring chances in the second and third periods. But it just seemed like every time there was a legitimate BU penalty, CU was called for some nonsense matching minor. The obstruction/interference call leading to the 5x3 and the first goal was ridiculous; it occurrby A-19 - Hockey
Re: John Harvards Pregame for Lynah East - 12 years ago
i imagine the cornell club must have had to shell out a serious amount of money to john harvards to take over the entire restaurant for two hours on a friday night, in order for it to have been financially feasible for the restaurant to agree. i wonder if there arent many takers on the reception if the restaurant would let in the general public?by A-19 - Hockey
Re: Harvard - Pregame - 12 years ago
cambridge 1 is a pizza place also next to the T stop. it's a bit fancier though and tough to get a table on a friday. another option is fire and ice all you can eat mongolian grill, or mr. bartley's burgers (packed)by A-19 - Hockey
John Harvards Pregame for Lynah East - 12 years ago
Although I was not involved in planning or publicizing the below event, I have learned about it and wanted to make others aware of it: Per discussions with the Cornell Club of Boston and office of alumni affairs, and as stated in the link below, I have learned that Cornell has apparently rented out all of John Harvards in Harvard Square from 1630-1830 on 11 November before the Lynah East game.by A-19 - Hockey

watching cu-harvard in washington dc? - 16 years ago
i will unfortunately miss the harvard away game this year, for something like the first time in 7 years. was wondering if anyone knew of any events that were scheduled to view the game at a dc sports bar etc. i didn't see anything listed on the cornell club of dc webpage, though i understand in the past that they have organized something similar. for those going, cheer extra loudly for me!by A-19 - Hockey
Cornell Happy Hours this weekend - 16 years ago
Following the CU-Gtown football game, the Cornell Class of 2004 will be hosting a happy hour for all students, alumni, friends/relatives at 6PM at the Tomb's Bar in Georgetown, in D.C. The Tombs is located a few blocks from the stadium and all VA/MD/DC alums are welcome to attend. Also note that, although unrelated to sporting events, the Class of 2004 is also hosting a happy hour, featuring $by A-19 - Other Sports

Re: PSA: john harvards does reservations for 6 or more.... - 17 years ago
i spoke to the john harvard's people about large group reservations. for 5 years running, we have done 40-person groups. from what i understand, they won't reserve that many tables for you, unless you commit to an $800 minimum charge with a full sit down dinner. that being said, i would recommend anyone coming to get there ~ 430ish because service is notably slow and it tends to get packed -miby A-19 - Hockey

the rink looked kinda empty on the webcast. what did people at the game think?by A-19 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 Robert Morris 1 - 17 years ago
i thought the rink had tunnels built under the stands leading to each bench. the teams definitely filed out like they used to. did they decide not to go through with that part of the construction?by A-19 - Hockey
