Re: [OT] Wrestling cruising at NCAAs - 19 years ago
Keep up the good posting. I know next to nothing about wrestling, but living in Allentown, I have lots of friends who went to Lehigh. I can use some bragging rights.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Damn shame they weren't playing Hahvahd.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey
Re: Staying in Albany - 19 years ago
Think back to when you were a student. Did you have $80 for a hotel, $24 for tickets, plus gas and dinner money? I know I didn't. I was living on $400 a month, including rent. Now I recognize, prices have gone up, but still. The four tournaments we went to, we crashed at a local fraternity chapter. Ashley, I wish I could help, but the only space in my hotel room is on the other sideby Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Re: Brown stays TUC(?) - 19 years ago
Crazy theory: Vermont and Brown both played UMD. Possibly a UVM loss hits the opponents-opponents % harder for Brown because of those two extra common opponent games?by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey
Re: ECAC Final TV Coverage - 19 years ago
Hopefully only in the late game.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey
Re: Another team to root for - 19 years ago
Not sure, I've done a lot of scenarios where Brown isn't a TUC at the end. Possibly a combination of Colgate and Holy Cross losses. Brown is so borderline, it wouldn't surprise me if it came down to North Dakota or Denver since UMD's played them four times (having an impact on opp-opp %).by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Final: Michigan State wins 5-0.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Re: Quest for #1 seed - 19 years ago
Here's a fun one: 1. CC 2. Minn 3. BC 4. Cornell 5. BU 6. Denver 7. Mich 8. NoDak 9. Maine 10. Hahvahd 11. UNH 12. Colgate 13. Dartmouth 14. UVM 15. Bemidji 16. Holy Cross We get a 1-seed, a first round game against CHA or AHA, and 5 ECAC teams make the tourney. Plus we'd probably get to play in Worcester in order to preserve the 4-5 pairing. All of this and we don't even nby Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey
Re: ECAC Final TV Coverage - 19 years ago
I'd allow some time at the end of the game, tho. The second game of a doubleheader never starts on time.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

For you old-timers ROOT FOR CORNELLby Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey
Another team to root for - 19 years ago
If Holy Cross wins AHA, and Colgate beat Hahvard (but not us), Brown can become a TUC again. We get two more TUC wins and can actually flip the comparison with Minnesota.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey
Re: Important Thur out-of-towns - 19 years ago
OK, now it's 4-2 and this one stands.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

He qualifies for rule #1 (no Poofters!), but IMO not rule #2.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey
Re: Important Thur out-of-towns - 19 years ago
Now 4-2! Wow. Edit: Never mind. Crease violation. No goal. Still 3-2by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Re: Hobey Finalists... - 19 years ago
Up to 35 after I voted. By the way, I voted for the Quinnipiac guy and the Michigan Tech guy for 2nd and 3rd, so as not to give points to someone who might beat McKee.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Damn straight, Al. Getting 5 ECAC teams in is not a goal in my mind. Winning in Albany is.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey
Re: Tickets in Minneapolis - 19 years ago
I hope not. But if Schafer reserved two sections for friends and family this weekend, plus the band goes out, and the total is only about 300 seats like in squeakball, it'll still be a tough seat. Given that, when did the ticket office start selling Albany tickets, so I know when tio call Monday should the problem present itself?by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Re: Sign ideas - 19 years ago
We had a similar incident with Providence in '81. The Providence fans were directly opposite us at the Gahden. They had a big sign running along the upper deck that said "Go Friars, Beat Cornell". I took a piece of cardboard I had for impromptu signs, wrote "Off" on it in big block letters, and went up there and hung it over the word Cornell. It didn't last long, butby Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey
