Weder Ivy title on the line tomorrow at Yale. Cornell would take it with a win or a tie. Yale needs a win. 2-1 Cornell. Ivy champs.by Al DeFlorio - Hockey

CU77 Is Cornell sometimes running 4 attackmen? Not unusual on man-up. Firth is running on first midfield.by Al DeFlorio - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2024 - 5 weeks ago
Cornell95 I am too lazy to go look it up, but my recollection was that Checo was a wing on the face off and that greatly helped his GB total. still an excellent match up. Could be. Somehow, groundballs picked up on faceoffs should be a different metric.by Al DeFlorio - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2024 - 5 weeks ago
Lehigh will likely cover Kirst with Richard Checo, who had 64 groundballs and 54 caused-turnovers last year as a freshman. Those are Adler-level numbers. Should be interesting to watch.by Al DeFlorio - Other Sports

BearLover Al DeFlorio Trotsky BearLoverHe justified it with the theory that it would force Schafer to try to win even harder, lol. No. I always root for the ECAC, because I like the league, and I want it to be strong and attract more talent to help raise our SoS. I do, too. And, anyone who gets upset over who I, or anyone else here, roots for needs to get a life. Desperately. Go on a Dukeby Al DeFlorio - Hockey

Cop at Lynah Very undisciplined team. Silly fouls by upperclassman are inexcusable. The better team did not win. Right.by Al DeFlorio - Other Sports

Getting sloppy with the big lead. Now up 9 with Yale ball. Make it 7. Back to 9 with Red timeout to take last shot of half. Missed last shot, then fouled Yale with 1 second. Up 8 at half.by Al DeFlorio - Other Sports

BearLover Trotsky ECAC Hockey Tournament Probabilities SF F Title Qpc .96 .74 .45 Cor .91 .65 .35 Cgt .59 .18 .06 Clk .41 .13 .05 This season I will not say a word about how these “predictions” have zero predictive value because they are entirely derived from a ranking which is not predictive. I will stay silent about the fact these rankings are not backtested at allby Al DeFlorio - Hockey

Roy 82 Al DeFlorio upprdeck ...perhaps to appeal to those who think beach volleyball is a real sport, not a skin show.... I'm guessing you are not very familiar with competitive beach volleyball. "Uniforms" aside, the game requires a high degree of athleticism and skill - not to mention size. And you might also be surprised at the range of uniforms that teams choose to wear.by Al DeFlorio - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Dartmouth, 1/27 - 8 weeks ago
upprdeck Is it a different game? for sure. But its still hockey because it can and does happen in the real game even if in very limited situations. Like Bball when a game is played 5x3.. not fun to watch and doesn't happen that often, but it does. It happened in a real game for a reason: actual called penalties. It happens in overtime because some assholes decided to do it that way, perhaby Al DeFlorio - Hockey

BearLover sah67 BearLover Do you guys watch much NHL? 3x3 OT is still really fast paced and exciting in the NHL. In college it’s a little slower, but there are still many more great scoring chances per minute than in regulation. Frankly, it’s very exciting for the casual fan, and it’s still exciting for the jaded enfranchised fan like me as well. The same goes for shootouts, though to a lesserby Al DeFlorio - Hockey
Re: Men’s Basketball 23-24 - 2 months ago
upprdeck well since Cornell has no scholies arent they all really walkons in some way? Think the difference is that Dale recruited himself by sending a video to Cornell. Foote's mother recruited him for Cornell. So Donahue, in a way, was presented with two of his big three studs on a platter.by Al DeFlorio - Other Sports

Re: Cornell vs Quinnipiac, 1/20 - 2 months ago
Trotsky upprdeck we need another good weekend and get some help from the teams 3-4 spots ahead of us. our margin is gonna be small. We need seven more good weekends. But so what? Some philosophy. This Winter is a lesson that the NC$$s can't be the overdetermining goal. Enjoy the games one at a time, and let PWR take care of itself. This is, in microcosm, the human problem of worryingby Al DeFlorio - Hockey

Re: Men’s Basketball 23-24 - 2 months ago
Mr. Niss Al DeFlorio Disorganized, sloppy final three minutes and Brown cuts lead from 16 to 7. Yuck. Sometimes I get the feeling that we go on a big run, open up a lead, and some guys on the team begin to think they're Curly Neal and start to play Globetrotters' ball. And next thing you know, we're not blowing them out any longer. Opened up to a 14 lead 2nd half, now back to 8. Offense stagby Al DeFlorio - Other Sports
