Re: Wayne State Saturday Postgame - 17 years ago
billhowardQuoting attendance as tickets sold does continue the string of sold-out or nearly sold-out Lynah Rink games even if it means fewer pretzels and T-shirts sold between periods. That's one more reason why it would be good to have more than the Cornell Big Red Sports Ministry of Information reporting on the game. Did Cornell run any "plenty of general attendance tickets availabby bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: Wayne State Postgame (Sunday) - 17 years ago
MBAnyway, (fire) Andy has slowly drained the fun out of being in the crowd. It's fair that we're not allowed to make racial slurs, or swearing, that's understandable. But being loud and creative? C'mon! I'm going to politely disagree. Our crowd isn't particularly creative - every chant/cheer is a derivative of "you suck" and frankly, I find it boring and have tuned out most of whatby bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: Dartmouth AD apology - 17 years ago
So is that why the official seal of Dartmouth College depicts a pair of Native Americans coming out of the woods to be "educated and cultured" by the white man? And is that why Buddy Teevens (Dartmouth's football coach) has a tattoo of an indian on where the sun don't shine (that's a pretty well documented thing up there). Why not force their own college to get rid of their own ofby bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: SHG?? - 17 years ago
The clarification of this rule is similar to the one in the Wayne State post-game thread about he order of letting people out of the box. A penalty shot is in fact a two-minute penalty, only your "power play" comes in the form of a 1v1 with the goalie. Example - Saturday, Wayne State's penalty shot, Taylor Davenport was credited with two minutes for tripping, but he never stepped foby bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: PPGs Ending Penalties - 17 years ago
Heres your answer... Power plays can end one of three ways, right? They can be killed off, scored on, or end when a player on your team gets called. With Cornell on the power play, Bitz got sent to the box. That ended the Cornell power play - now, in theory, if there's no other penalty, that would mean that Wayne State would end up with a power play of its own once their man got out of theby bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: Big Red Penalty Kill Problem - 17 years ago
Currently ranked 55th out of 59 in D1 in penalty killing... yeah, I'd say that's a problem... For a Schafer coached team that's routinely in the top 10 in the nation, 55th is an embarrassment.by bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: Quinnipac and fans are for real - 17 years ago
Dpperk29would your analysis be any different had cornell won? I think so. Learn to lose with grace. Frankly, yes. You didn't have to stand behind the guy I did. I kept wanting to flick his ear - and this was early in the game when we were leading. So yeah, I think my response would be the same. Put another way: I'm not the sore loser you obviously think I am. Was that team better than we werby bandrews37 - Hockey
Quinnipiac's new rink - 17 years ago
Looking at the photos of Quinnipiac's new rink that's supposed to open in a month or two, I'm reminded of how much we screwed the pooch by not building a new rink on campus. Lynah's historic and all, blah blah blah, but we missed out on a chance at something great by not going new. And it's too bad. For the small fortune that we spent to do practically nothing to the rink, we could have chipped iby bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 @ Quinnipiac 5 Post Game Thread - 17 years ago
Umm, not sure where you're getting your information, but it's wrong (gee, why am I not shocked?). Milo was a healthy scratch on Saturday. That was a planned move to play Scali on Saturday night, barring injury to another player.by bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 @ Quinnipiac 5 Post Game Thread - where are the Cornell photos? - 17 years ago
First off, not sure if you're aware of it, but that's not their official athletics site. They may link to it, but that's not the CSTV site, so I'm sure if anyone gave a rat's ass about Quinnipiac, CSTV would shut them down in a second - it's happened before at other CSTV schools. Secondly, not sure if you want to check out "Me's Ice Hockey vs. Cornell" photos... Finally, that POS schoolby bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: Quinnipac and fans are for real - 17 years ago
Bunch of rude, obnoxious thugs is what they were. Topher Scott gets clotheslined and sent to the box for diving... Seminoff gets his stick held with the referee no more than 10 feet away and no whistle... The fans? Not much better. To them, every shot was going in, whether it was five feet wide or not, and every move was something Gretzky would have pulled, never mind the fact their guy lost theby bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: Cornell - CSTV webcast quality - 17 years ago
Wow, some of you people are really damn obtuse... First off, I was at the game and Tivo'd the game - I haven't seen such crappy images on a television screen in my life. I had a hard time telling which team was which, the picture was so bad. If I didn't know Cornell attacked the scoreboard side twice I would have been totally out of luck. Even when they had the whole damn thing, from cameras oby bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: CSTV - call to complain last year, sue 'em this year? - 17 years ago
Do you honestly think they don't know how bad their customer service is? One would assume that if they treat paying fans this way, they probably treat the paying schools similarly... An excellent point was brought up earlier on this thread: there's only a finite number of companies that do this type of work - have you seen the trash that Harvard and Dartmouth are using now? Their live stats loby bandrews37 - Hockey

See this about why the men's game was on Thursday night...by bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: Thanksgiving Games are SATURDAY and SUNDAY - 17 years ago
Saturday's game against Wayne State is 8 pm - it's the same situation with the RIT game last weekend, where the women are forced to play at 3 by ECACHL rules, so the men's game begins at 8 to give enough time to finish the women's game, prepare the ice and allow the required warmup time. That also relates to why the Robert Morris game was on Thursday - the women had that league series with Broby bandrews37 - Hockey

Re: Weekend Not Yet a Sellout - 17 years ago
Saturday's game is sold out. Blame not the incompetant AD, but the BS rules that require the department to hold aside X number of tickets for visiting schools, only to have them return X - 25 of the tickets they were alotted.by bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: RMU audio available? but not free? - 17 years ago
RMU does not offer audio of road games (and you people bitch that Cornell doesn't offer enough, how would you like that if they didn't do anything for away games?) - there was nobody sitting in the box broadcasting at the opposite end of Cornell's radio tonight. You'd have been salty if you'd paid for that and found out there was nothing there....by bandrews37 - Hockey

Re: Athletic's Website - 17 years ago
So you're reading their website and it's not costing you a dime to do so. They could always add that under "no-Access" and make you pay for it. Under that pretense, I'm all for pop-ups.by bandrews37 - Hockey
Re: Athletic's Website - 17 years ago
Yeah, because this site is SOOO well maintained Tell me-is Matt Moulson still the leading scorer or David McKee the top goalie?by bandrews37 - Hockey
