Re: Cornell Football Recruits '29 - 7 days ago
The transfer from Air Force. Am surprised that the Academies are allowed to redshirt. Was it injury related? Otherwise looks like a good recruiting class plus the transfers from James Madison and Wake Forest respectfully.by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell Lacrosse legacy started before Richie Moran - 18 days ago
Somebody correct me if I am wrong but I think years ago Cornell had in its Master Long term plan a proposal to raise the roof at Lynah not to add more seats but to accomodate chairback seating instead of bleachers.by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: CORNELL WINS 2025 MENS LACROSSE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! - 24 days ago
ADs vote-Ivy Council (Faculty Reps) vote and finally Presidents vote. To move through each level there must be a vote of 6 in favor to move and pass at each level.by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: CJ KIRST WINS 2025 TEWAARATON AWARD - 4 weeks ago
Let us not forget the great lacrosse goalies we have had: Dan Mackesey, Paul Schmoler, Chase Ierlan, Butch Hilliard, John Griffin and the guys from the 1971 team (Bucky Gunts and cannot recall the other one)by rss77 - Other Sports
Question? - 4 weeks ago
Does any one have any idea what sport Dr Moore was referring to in her "Big Red Threads" newsletter? It was a reference to not allowing a Cornell teammto attend some competition.by rss77 - Other Sports

Aaron Jones, a defenseman on the 1987 NCAA finalist team on the team deserves to be on the list alongside Chris Kane, Frank Muelleman, and Gavin Adler.by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: CORNELL WINS 2025 MENS LACROSSE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! - 5 weeks ago
Great Achievement Red! I believe back in 76 and 77 the Red had to go 3 rounds instead of 4 and there are more good D 1 teams than there were back then also. Wipes out the sorry taste of 2009. LGR!!by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: NCAA tournament: CU vs Richmond 5/19 - 6 weeks ago
Kirst did not seem to moving at the pace he has most of the year. He has taken a ton of shots to the body this season so not sure if we credit Richmond's defense or potential minor injury? I will comment that I amazed at the way Goldstein moves his feet. I think 90% of us would trip over our own feet if we tried to move like him.by rss77 - Other Sports

According to Ivy League, Chat Cooper Noard just entered the portal. Wonder if Coach Jacques has any one coming through the portal? And see that Penn alums want to set up a collective.by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: NCAA basketball 2025 - 2 months ago
As I said before was not impressed with him. Nice money though-congrats to him. Playing in the SEC will not make him a better player-either you got it or you don't to play in the NBAby rss77 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell vs Syracuse Men's Lacrosse, Saturday, April 12, 4 PM, Uniondale - 2 months ago
Nice win but the Corrigan brothers are so annoying. Having to pay $18 to listen to their nonsense makes it even worse.by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell @ Brown Men's Lacrosse Saturday, April 5, 2025, 12 noon - 2 months ago
Credit also to Knust and Cornell's settled defense in 2nd half as the settled defense allowed only 1 goal. Brown's defense clogged things up and ground balls were pretty even.by rss77 - Other Sports

Also check it out but I believe Patriot League schools are doing NIL collectives.by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: Men's Basketball March 2025 - 2 months ago
In some ways I have never understood the need "To play at a higher level". IMO you are what you are as a player. Playing in the Big East as opposed to the Ivies does not make you a better basketball player. I remember Jimmy Boeheim's comment that he was surprised there was not much difference in athleticsm between the Ivies and ACC. The difference at higher levels is athleticsm couplby rss77 - Other Sports
Re: Okereke in Portal - 3 months ago
OK-the NIL thing at Princeton was a "rumor" but still not clear why Henderson dumped his two top assistant coaches. Highly suggest IvyLeague, chat website for Ivy Basketball followeres.by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: Okereke in Portal - 3 months ago
Yes-credit to the coaching staff for the improvement he has shown the last 2 seasons but it creates a big hole to fill. It's a whole new era-has anybody else seen the mess down at Princeton where two assistants were let go-something to do with NIL according to rumors.by rss77 - Other Sports
Penn at Cornell Men's Lacrosse Saturday, March 29, 2025 - 3 months ago
Setting up the game thread. Want revenge on these guys and pepper Emmett Carroll with a ton of shots. LGR!!by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2025 - 3 months ago
Good to see the Red ranked #1 but lets see if we can stay on top when it really matters in May. Watching Kirst is like watching Michael Jordan-such incredible head scratching shots he makes. Not going to get caught up in comparing him to likes of French, Pannell, Teat, etc. Appreciate the greatness of watching CJ play. Agreed on the hit to Long. Its a play that one sees too often in lacrosseby rss77 - Other Sports
Re: Men's Basketball March 2025 - 3 months ago
Looking at Kenpom criteria the top 12 conferences get an automatic bid. Ivies finished at 13 just out of the running for an auto bid. Would have to have seen one more game from this crew. Will comment it has amazing watching Okereke improve over the course of his time wearing the Red. Would hurt to lose him.by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: Men's Basketball March 2025 - 3 months ago
We also forget that there was tremendous depth on the 2009/2010 season. He had a couple of transfers in Max Groebe from UMass and Mark Coury from Kentucky. Errick Peck, Adam Wire, Geoff Reeves, and Alex Tyler were also excellent players and athletes. Coury was a great backup to Foote as he was starting center at Kentucky for a year. Yes Dale, Foote, and Wittman were great players but they wouby rss77 - Other Sports

Yes-a few weeks ago but Cornell is playing at the top of their game right now and their defensive play has tightened up too.by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2025 - 3 months ago
We sometimes forget that these are games and an element of luck contributes to the outcome. Cascadden's unfortunate penalty was accidental contact but it was a shot to the head. Without the 2 minute unreleasable penalty Penn State does not win IMO. (Could've, would've, should've). Let's see if the Red use this game for motivation to fire up against Princeton.by rss77 - Other Sports

Finishing the regular season on a high note. They have a shot at winning it all. Yale has faltered down the stretch. Good chance at revenge against Dartmouth next Saturday.by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: Men's Basketball March 2025 - 3 months ago
One can extend eligibility by taking additional undergraduate courses but on the flipside all your financial aid gets taken away. Cornell for years has been for graduate student eligibility but cannot get support to overturn the rule.by rss77 - Other Sports
Cornell Sun??? - 4 months ago
I believe there are some former Sun people on this board. Any explanation why men's and women's basketball gets such scarce coverage this season?by rss77 - Other Sports
Re: 'A Monumental Blunder': Million-dollar donor baffled after Cornell destroys namesake field hockey turf with no immediate replacement - 4 months ago
I greatly respect Dr. Moore. I think she has overall done a great job running the Athletic Department. However, this is a giant slip with one of their biggest donors. Where was the Athletic Development Office-aren't they the ones who administer Alumni Relations with individuals such as Ms. Dodson?by rss77 - Other Sports
