Re: SPAM - 2 months ago
Swampy Trotsky abmarks Trotsky Greg has no power here. He is only pawn in game of life. I have assumed all the crap we are seeing is automated. Captcha added to registration for an account?"Select all the boxes with a sieve." This actually might work. The spammer would have to know what a sieve is in the context of this board. This way, we can say to future spammers, "it'by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Mike Schafer retiring 2025 - 2 months ago
I for one am happy for Coach Schafer. Selfishly I'd like him to stay another decade but he's earned his retirement, and that's a very personal decision that we must honor.by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: NCAA QF - Denver - 5 months ago
semsox I thought we acquitted ourselves well, but from my view in the stands, it certainly felt like Denver was the better and faster team. Their forecheck was awesome, and it seemed we never had any time or space. I'd be curious what the possession numbers looked like for the game. Good season though, and looking forward to the future.l This. They were able to say, especially after they got up,by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: NCAA QF - Denver - 5 months ago
We acquitted ourselves well, despite the outcome. It hurts that we keep coming up a hair short of the Frozen Four but Denver is a legitimate team.by imafrshmn - Hockey

Not sure if i've ever seen a more textured, cut-up looking ice surface after a zamboni job than at MassMutual Center.by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: NCAA QF - Denver - 5 months ago
Couple of big mistakes in that period that we got away with thanks to Shane--Bancroft with the pizza into the slot on a breakout try and then (not sure who it was) a giveaway at the blueline on our PP opportunity leading to the breakaway.by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: NCAA Tournament 2024 - 5 months ago
BearLover imafrshmn For the ticket counters out there: reported attendance for yesterday's Missouri regional games (MSU-WMU,NoDak-UMich) was a COMBINED 3148, which would be about 63% of capacity). So what happened to the other 37% of tickets? Weren’t tickets going for $2000? Ok i made a mistake in interpretation. 3148 was the official capacity for the venue as they were able to add additional sby imafrshmn - Hockey

Today is a great day to break a curse. Set your altars, light your candles, do whatever rituals you need to do to get right. Let's do this!by imafrshmn - Hockey

Plenty of empty seats in Maryland Heights, outside of St. Louis, Missouri, at the Centene Community Ice Center (2500 capacity) for Michigan State vs. Western Michigan.by imafrshmn - Hockey

blackwidow Ill be back after cornell loses to Denver We need all our anti-woofers on deck. Stay right where you are. We see you and we appreciate you.by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the pros 23-24 - 5 months ago
ER Pretty sure it is or would be to coach Schafer or any of the other varsity coaches. Engaging in illegal activity is a big deal. i don't disagree. i'm speaking about the notion that regular cornell students might do thisby imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the pros 23-24 - 5 months ago
BearLover ER Wow those are some bold, completely unsubstantiated projections. I was in the Greek system and never knew of or saw anyone “doing coke” at a party. I don’t even think it was a thing when I was in school. Way to perpetuate the rumors that all Greeks like to do is party though. Not sure when you attended Cornell, but I know for a fact there are multiple fraternities and sororities wherby imafrshmn - Hockey

Re: ECAC Final - St. Lawrence?! - 5 months ago
"Oat-standing" win for the boys, for Schäf, and everyone associated with Cornell Hockey. It's about time we didn't get screwed over by refs, luck, or whatever. It brought tears to my eyes to see Schafer get emotional there at the end. Drink this one in, ye faithful, and pour one out for those who have left.by imafrshmn - Hockey

arugula adamw Jeff Hopkins '82 adamw Also - Albany is a sh*thole. It may be a shithole, but it's our shithole. You're right, I guess. I just wish that Lake Placid didn't rip off the fans. The woman checking me in at my hotel yesterday told me that all the hotels look forward to the ECAC tournament...so they can jack up their rates! I agree that sucks - and I've tried to get in theby imafrshmn - Hockey

scoop85 RichH scoop85 Izzy Daniel wins the Patty Kazmeier award. Wonderful! Saulnier was Cornell’s only other “finalist.” Link: Hard to believe neither Johnston nor Jenner were finalists. For my money the two best women ever to play for Cornell Absolutely. On the eye, Brianne Jenner is the clear GOAT of Cornell Women's Hockey. It just so happened that there were generational talents atby imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid-2024 - 5 months ago
arugula I seem to recall that the Boston Garden was nearly full for the ECAC in the mid 80s. I get that we can’t go back there, but how about Barclays or UBS or the Prudential. I’m sure MSG is too pricy. In the highly likely event that Cornell is in the semi finals there will be a strong likely five figure not half empty crowd. Having the event in small to tiny markets guarantees small to tinby imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid-2024 - 5 months ago
Even though I love ECAC Hockey and would not want to change the conference (except maybe sending Q to HE), it's kind of bothersome how small-time this league looks in the postseason compared to HE and B1G. In football we have seen the B1G and SEC schools claiming that top tier for themselves and it seems like a similar thing is evolving in hockey. HE and B1G conference final fours are very well aby imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: ECAC Semifinal - Dartmouth - 5 months ago
RichH adamw Swampy arugula And we’re 13 in the pwr… The problem is that if we lose, I don't think the ECAC is a three-bid league this year no matter what the pwr says. The only thing that matters is what the Pairwise says. And the Pairwise says Cornell must win tomorrow to make the NCAAs. Lalalala. I’m not listening to what the lousy pairwise says anymore. I only care about a shiny metalby imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: ECAC Semifinal - Dartmouth - 5 months ago
VIEWfromK Deep down I hope the guys call him Schafer to his face instead of Coach like in the Walsh interview. I was wondering has anyone ever scored a natural hat trick with empty netters? Was hoping Cashman pulled Black once more. Everyone calls him Schaf'by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: ECAC Semifinal - Dartmouth - 5 months ago
Schafer likes to tamp down the emotions, at least to start games. But the way this one shook out, the emotions ramped up organically, and we finally clicked. We can win a game playing one good period, and that makes us dangerous. I like the vibes going into tomorrow. Hope Kempf's knee feels better.by imafrshmn - Hockey

We scored 2 ENG to comeback at Appleton. This team knows how to dig deep. Let's try not to slip on the wet ice.by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: ECAC Semifinal - Dartmouth - 5 months ago
Feels like "one of those nights". We've been playing frustrated all game. Not finishing chances. Somehow it feels worse than only one goal down.by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: ECAC Semifinal - Dartmouth - 5 months ago
Decent last couple minutes of the period as far as winning pucks and creating chances. Time for Schafer to fire up the buttock Bunsen burners. Let's go boys!by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: ECAC Semifinal - Dartmouth - 5 months ago
RichH I guess everyone is fearful of a thread. My superstitions aren’t digital. 1-0 Dartmouth. It's all your faultby imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid-2024 - 5 months ago
Through 2 periods, it looks like Q really didn't come in to this game with a plan other than "we're the better team, and we're already going to the NCAAs". It will be interesting to see how they come out playing in the 3rd, but Kraws is going to be tough to crack.by imafrshmn - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid-2024 - 5 months ago
I don't want to jinx it but halfway through the 2nd period, up 1-0, SLU is looking pretty confident and pushing bobcats around all over the ice.by imafrshmn - Hockey
