Goal and an assist so far tonight for Moulson in the Kings game vs the Ducks.by mjh89 - Hockey
Re: Dividing loyalties? - 18 years ago
My HR professor here at Cornell is a Colorado College grad ... He said he wasn't rooting for anyone last week, just wanted to see a good game. Growing up in Ithaca, I've got a few friends who have gone to schools Cornell plays against, and the vast majority still cheer for the Big Red when they meet.by mjh89 - Hockey

Natyshak-Paolini (career improvement) Pegoraro MacFarlane (transcendent beauty and skating prowess) Barlow Shippel-Hornby (scrappiness and effort) Chris Abbott Gage (supporting role) Carefoot Schafer-Bâby (leadership and passion) Gleed Belanger-Murphy (loathed ref) -- no disambiguation on which Murphy. No, the Islanders won't make the playoffs. But, find happiness with the fact that the Rangers will!by mjh89 - Other Sports

I love how the author talks about their "safety school" chant as if it was something creative and unique to Harvard's cheering section.by mjh89 - Hockey

He should have come to Cornell and gave up playing in the NHl at age 18?by mjh89 - Hockey
Re: Pokulok - Hockey's Future - 18 years ago
The Hockey Future people write a lot of stuff that doesn't make sense, or in other cases is just downright wrong. That being said, this article seems pretty accurate. I'd be surprised to see Pokulok back next year.by mjh89 - Hockey
Re: Yale - Cornell post-game - 18 years ago
The most noticable aspect of the game, from my point of view, was how physically dominant Yale was. They outhit Cornell all over the ice. McCutcheon's goal was one of the nicest I have seen in a long time. I agree with others' sentiment that Cornell was the better team. They had more shots, more opportunities, and carried the play. If Cornell played Yale 10 times, I'd expect at least 7 wins.by mjh89 - Hockey
Re: OT: ny rangers question - 18 years ago
Lundqvist is clearly a better goalie and also much younger. The reasoning that Renney is giving is that Lundqvist has never played an 82 game season because he played in Europe and they don't want to wear him out. Also, if you look at his numbers, they are far better at MSG than during away games, which is why Weekes plays many of the road games.by mjh89 - Other Sports

6. When will Krantz commit his 1000th turnover of the season? 7. Could Princeton beat the Chapter House team in the Ithaca Adult Hockey Association?by mjh89 - Hockey

Re: CU vs. Princeton Post-game - 18 years ago
I like Salmela alot, as I've been flooding this board with pleas for him to get in the line-up all season. The forwards just need to be sure to cover for him sometimes, as he loves to jump in on the rush.by mjh89 - Hockey
CU vs. Princeton Post-game - 18 years ago
Wow. Princeton is a terrible team. They played decently in the 2nd period, but in the 1st period, they looked like a Midget Snowbelt team. Probably the worst period I have seen a team play in years. Cornell looked good, but again there were many careless turnovers on our end of the ice. If Cornell is going to be a good team, those turnovers need to be eliminated. Though Carefoot played a solid gaby mjh89 - Hockey
Re: Rangers v.s Capitals - 18 years ago
What made the shootout even better was that twice in sudden death, the Caps opened the round with a goal and the Rangers had to score to keep it going, and did both times. And then for Malik to skate back up the ice with such a serious look on his face ... fantastic.by mjh89 - Hockey
Re: NHL-NCAA - 18 years ago
He won't, and neither will Jessiman. Darin Olver of Northern Michigan (played for Chilliwack) has a chance, and you can always root for Sucks' Dylan Reese!by mjh89 - Hockey

I don't like them because their fans are awful and Brodeur doesn't know when to stop talking. Also, Ken Daneyko is really ugly.by mjh89 - Hockey

Re: RPI 1 @ Cornell 1 11/19 Postgame - 18 years ago
Seminoff should come out of the line-up until he can learn not to take bad penalties. His punch to the head body check with 4 minutes left came within a post of costing us the game. Give Salmela a chance, and put him on the powerplay instead of rock-hands O'Byrne. Also would like to point out that McCutcheon gets my early-season vote for most improved player. Doin a great job on the PK. Cornell aby mjh89 - Hockey
Re: Union 2 @ Cornell 1 (postgame thread 11/18/05) - 18 years ago
Things I noticed: -Cornell now has a noticable nike swoosh on the front of their socks ... -The reffing was, in my opinion, pretty good ... although I don't know how nothing was called when the Union player clearly knocked the puck out of the zone with only his shaft after his stick broke. -Why is O'Byrne on the power play? He is a solid defenseman, but he's more of an Adam Foote than a Brianby mjh89 - Hockey

Bitz-Pegararo-Moulson Carefoot-Scott-Barlow Abbott-Abbott-Sawada Mugford-Kennedy-McCutcheon Pokulok-Glover O'Byrne-Salmela Davenport -Gleed McKee No idea how Connors and Kindret are doing in practice, so its tough for me to say they shouldn't be in the line-up, but take it with a grain of salt.by mjh89 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1 @ Dartmouth 6 (post-game thread) - 18 years ago
Schafe will start McKee next weekend. If we're going anywhere this year, McKee's gotta be the one to carry us there. That being said, a congrats to Chabot for proving he can play at this level, and a thanks for keeping the came (some what) close.by mjh89 - Hockey
