billhoward Nice nickname: Cornell PR A mid-year transfer to Gustavus Adolphus, a Minnesota-based Division III institution, in 2012-13, Leivermann averaged a point per game over his 40 career games with the Gusties Officially the team nickname is the Golden Gusties. Re: Frozen Apple Tickets - 4 weeks ago
Al DeFlorio dbilmes Q just sent out an email today with a link to buy tickets. They say prices range from $49 to $235, The idea of a $235 ticket for a college hockey game boggles. billhoward Cornell-Colgate Thanksgiving Saturday 2010 at the Prudential Center was * a fabulously exiting game, Cornell coming from 3-1 down entering the third to earn a 4-3 regulation win * a kind of sleepy atmosphere, the place more than two-thirds empty, 5,413 fans in a rink that held 17,625 at the time (and which has since been downsized to 16,592 in 2013 and two years late to 16,514)by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

billhoward There might be some intra-nation grievances – "you enslaved our people in 1066 and we will never compete under your flag" – versus the idea of three close-by islands or nations combined having a better chance to reach the podium. Say if Catalonia separated from Spain, would they get Olympic standing? Interesting question of how high in the medal standings they'd be if Calby Jeff Hopkins '82 - Other Sports

Swampy Jeff Hopkins '82 When I think about the MSG game, I always come back to the paradigm that the western schools almost always play two games in a weekend to defray the travel costs. I suspect that may be part of the problem in getting anybody from the west. Excellent point. Maybe go back to the "holiday tournament" model. scoop85 toddlose scoop85 toddlose Just curious on everyone’s thoughts. Doesn’t need to be political. Every institution has someone that they wish wasn’t associated with their Alma mater. As much as I might like to say Ann Coulter, this guy has to be #1 Holy shit. I was unaware of him. He was big news in my area since one of his victims was from my hometown of Middletown. Trotsky Scersk '97 Gutting. What a loss to the community. To pay off the surely mounting debts, I say Cornell buys some buildings and moves them, brick by brick, to replace some of our more horrific structures.Just raze everything built since 1930. upprdeck whats a 4 way tie look like? A mess? We'd have a 2 wins against the top 4 (Princeton, Yale) Yale would have 1 win against the top 4 (Penn) Penn would have 1 win against the top 4 (us) Princeton would have 2 wins against the top 4 (Penn, Yale) I'm not 100% sure how they'd decide it, but if they eliminate the two 1-win teams, and then compare the H2H of the two 2-win teams, we wby Jeff Hopkins '82 - Other Sports

George64 billhoward The only one that was worth a smile was after Ryan Goldstein tied the game: "Not only is he skinny as a chimney sweep, but he's got the hands of a mohel." That line reminded me of one of the truly great SNL ad parodies. The actual ad extolled the smooth ride of a Lincoln by showing a diamond cutter practicing his craft in the backseat. billhoward Jeff Hopkins '82 One last thought for completeness. If both Cornell and Princeton win out, we win the H2H with Princeton. Princeton winning out means they beat Penn 4/20 and Yale 4/27. Right, but we'd both have have one loss, which means we win the tie-breaker. Just a different tie scenario to be considered.by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Other Sports

BearLover Let’s assume, as has generally been the case the past few seasons, that (1) Cornell doesn’t gain anybody from the portal, (2) Cornell doesn’t lose anyone to the portal, (3) the blue bloods/top power conference schools and Quinnipiac are clear net winners from the portal and (4) most of the rest of the NCAA are clear net losers from the portal.
