Re: 2022 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament Thread of DESTINY - 1 year ago
Is this game still 6-4 in the 3rd? I’m in France and things like LiveStats and the radio feed are blocked, so I’m pretty much in the dark. All I can see is the score on InsideLax, and that hasn’t changed in some time.by Killer - Other Sports
Re: Alumni in the news . . . - 2 years ago
On his second throw, Rudy surpassed the automatic qualifying distance, so he's in Wednesday's final. I suspect the finals will produce some bigger throws than the qualies, and Rudy is quite capable of throwing over 80 meters, holding the American record at 82.71 meters.by Killer - Other Sports

Re: "Beartown" quote - 3 years ago
jtwcornell91 I'm disappointed that "Beartown" didn't turn out to be a reality show about big hairy gay men. Well, it was canceled this year, but it's scheduled for July 10-18 next year in P'town.by Killer - Hockey
Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 3 years ago
Anyone else notice that if you watch any of the college hockey games currently being televised, the stands tend to look like typical Harvard home games (sans Cornell, of course)?by Killer - Hockey
Re: Opponent News 19-20 - 3 years ago
I was visiting Boston at the time and happened to be watching that game on TV. I think I was as stunned as the fans in the arena. What a shocking and tragic moment. But in spite of the injury, he went on to be a role model and inspiration for many. RIP, Travis. A few articles about Travis from the Boston Globe:by Killer - Hockey

Rob Pannell, Golfer - 5 years ago
I stumbled on this recently while thumbing through an issue of Golf Digest. The article ranks the golfing abilities of athletes from other sports, along with their handicaps. ASSORTED SPORTS ROB PANNELL 3 | Four-time lacrosse All-Star with the New York Lizards, who also plays for the U.S. National Team, played varsity golf at Smithtown (N.Y.) High School. Re: We have a new world champion among us! - 5 years ago
Trotsky I always thought triathlon was a sport dominated by The Olds (32, not 23). Was she in an age category? And no, I didn't read the article, and yes, if it's mentioned there then I suck. No worries. Yes, she won U23. And I'll take some of the blame...I think I had that in an earlier version, but made an edit and...POOF! Sorry.by Killer - Other Sports

Re: Ticket info & Who's going to Worcester? - 6 years ago
Going with a couple old fraternity brothers. Alas, the one who got the tickets also has a BU connection, so guess where we're sitting. Might it be the Section O of the DCU?by Killer - Hockey
Re: Quinnipiac QF - 6 years ago
Trotsky dag14 It was not a playoff game but I remember a game in the early 80's against Yale where a Bertrand team was up 9-0 in the first period. Bertrand pulled the goalie on a faceoff in the Yale end. He said he wanted to "practice" playing 6 on 5....Dick Bertrand before he dicks you. Note Yale's first period goalie. I was there '71 to '77, so I missed that game. But I do remby Killer - Hockey

Al DeFlorio marty Trotsky CU2007 marty Larry72 Trotsky Bah. +1 To watch a great game be ruined by shootout was very disappointing. Especially at 2am! Let them play. I'm at work today and very happy I didn't stay up to watch a #$#@ shootout! If lucky my DVR recording ends before the shootout begins. I didn’t watch, but by all accounts the US dominated the OT, so at least the shootout wentby Killer - Hockey
Re: How to get tickets. - 6 years ago
Agreed. I've done it on several occasions in the past and was always successful, though Harvard seemed to hold off until the last minute before giving them to non-Harvard people. Look at it this way - Section O may suck, but packing more Cornell fans in there makes it suck less...and the view is great.by Killer - Hockey

Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 9 years ago
Chris '03 dbilmes Harvard sieve Michalek has set a Beanpot record with 63 saves against BU, but Harvard lost 4-3 in double OT after leading 3-1 in second period. It wouldn't be 4pm on the second Monday in February if Harvard wasn't playing hockey. There must be a rip in the time-space continuum: it's the second Monday in February and Harvard will not be playing hockey at 4:00 PM.by Killer - Hockey

Re: Cornell lacrosse 2014 Ivy tourney odds - 9 years ago
Robb billhoward Penn beat Harvard in overtime so Cornell and Harvard are tied for the Ivy lead and right to host the tournament except the first tie is broken by the head to head winner, Harvard. Cornell is likely to win out (?) based on the relative standings of the Ivy League. Harvard should beat Princeton; let's hope Yale takes down host Harvard April 26 to create a 4-way tie at 4-2 that we'dby Killer - Other Sports
Re: Yale-Brown Weekend - 10 years ago
capswon We are picking our son up from School on Saturday and were considering going to the game at Brown. It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from South Kent to Brown. My question is are we able to get tickets just by walking up? I was never at their rink before and by looking at the seating chart it looks as if there are quite a few reserved sections. Any help would be appreciated. See below:by Killer - Hockey
New Nigerian National Record - 10 years ago
No, the Nigerian Prince scam hasn't hit some milestone. A member of the Cornell Men's Track team, Stephen Mozia, reached 67'4" yesterday in the shot put, a new record for Nigeria and for Cornell. It's also the leading toss for the NCAA so far this season. Good luck to Stephen and the rest of the men's and women's teams.by Killer - Other Sports
