That was a dismal performance on both ends of the football and sideline.by shasta1 - Other Sports

I was following game on internet so I may have missed game strategy. I was referencing the one at the end of fourth quarter.by shasta1 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell Football 2016 - 7 years ago
It was inexcusable to have a delay of game penalty after a timeout for goodness sake. How can that happen??? They could have nailed the win down at that point. I don't think a 3-0 start should save his job. He can not play call period.by shasta1 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell vs Colgate - 7 years ago
I have been overly critical of the athletic department and football in general. I listened to the last minute on the radio on my way home from work. I was and still am impressed by the comeback. Also excited for the young men who came to CU with a dismal football presence on campus. Kiddos and continued success boys.by shasta1 - Other Sports

The athletic department was criticized a few years back regarding a Cinco de Mayo event. I don't remember all the details but Jeff Hall took the blame instead of the Athletic Director who ultimately signs off on everything going on.by shasta1 - Other Sports
Re: Bruno Hortelano-Roig ’14 - 7 years ago
Thanks for that correction, as I thought to myself...shit how is he alive. I had a horrible car accident that required an excellent hand surgeon. Luckily I found one in Dr. Carney-Young. I too pray both men fully recover.by shasta1 - Other Sports
Bruno Hortelano-Roig ’14 - 7 years ago
This talented young man was seriously injured in a "possible" DWI accident. My prayers are with him. According to the Daily Sun, his cousin was driving with a .53 BAC. I hope it serves as a reminder to all....Don't drive drunk AND don't get in a car with someone that has been drinking!by shasta1 - Other Sports

It took YEARS for sailing to become a varsity sport! Good luck ladies! You may want to get in contact with the sailing alumns to see how they managed to gain varsity status.by shasta1 - Other Sports
Re: National champions: women's polo - 7 years ago
Great article in Daily Sun about David E (coach) coaching his daughter AND winning back-to-back national titles. Very fun sport to watch, I encourage people to stop in and see them next season.by shasta1 - Other Sports

A better head coach is needed, not some I will be the interim during a difficult firing, and for my loyalty the head job! Andy through and through.by shasta1 - Other Sports

MLAX does not deserve any type of title hopes after yesterday's embarrassing loss. The program has sunk to the bottom and quickly!by shasta1 - Other Sports
Re: Basketball 2015-16 - 8 years ago
EASY way out again for Andy. Nat is a nice guy but can he actually coach from the bench?by shasta1 - Other Sports
Re: Basketball 2015-16 - 8 years ago
Wow...you are able to name one shoot for the moon and it wasn't Noel's hire. Look at his hire's during his tenure, they basically suck! He takes the easy way out as much as possible and hires assistant coaches OR kids like Archer.by shasta1 - Other Sports
Re: Basketball 2015-16 - 8 years ago
Kevin and Brian Earl hmmm....shooting for the moon once again from Noel.by shasta1 - Other Sports
Re: Basketball 2015-16 - 8 years ago
The administration should consider recruiting Zach Spiker as the next head coach. He was instrumental if not the key recruiter of the Foote, Dale, Whitman era. As a recruiter he is relentless and has proven to have solid bench coaching skills....something Courtney could not ever improve upon. Noel hired Courtney because he had solid resume as an assistant. Charisma can only take a team so far.by shasta1 - Other Sports

Oh...Yale is also going through a similar issue.by shasta1 - Other Sports
Re: Basketball 2015-16 - 8 years ago
Hmmmm....let's see how this plays out. The athletic department has had several issues with sexual assault over the years but only 2 made the press and one was Pete Mesko (currently in prison). Very glad the university has a new policy to address these issues and eliminate the department from intervening...or anyone but proper officials for that matter. No one wants bad press but hopefully coveby shasta1 - Other Sports

Re: Do we need a housecleaning in the athletics dept? - 8 years ago
The ONLY sport at CU that actually generates revenue is Men's Hockey...several teams like men's bball get guaranteed money when they play big name schools, so the team makes out well playing upper level DI schools. Why alumn continue to give to such a pathetic team like football is beyond me. Men's basketball is right up there, even with marginal students on the roster...meaning many of the bettby shasta1 - Other Sports
Re: Do we need a housecleaning in the athletics dept? - 8 years ago
In my opinion cornell athletics got the most national recognition for the sweet 16 run. If the administration had any basic common sense they would give men's basketball the most admissions slots to allow them to build the program with a NEW coaching staff. Let's face it, with the exception of hockey and lacrosse no other sports get any national recognition! However as noted, Andy only really cby shasta1 - Other Sports
