Re: MBB: Jon Jaques - 15 days ago
Good decision. I give our new AD a solid A-grade thus far.by CU2007 - Other Sports

Chris '03 CU2007 randyranger Lipkin just signed with Arizona. Dreams do come true. Something something weaker ECAC something something Pairwise Something something Rand will reload through portal something something Agreed but I’ll take my chances here. New players with fancy stats at someplace else don’t always transition seemlessly.by CU2007 - Hockey

BearLover I am hoping Ayrton Martino of Clarkson signs a pro deal. Third round draft pick of Dallas and one of Clarkson’s leading scorers each of his three college seasons. You’d think he would be a good candidate to sign a pro deal, but maybe the Stars don’t have the space. Given Clarkson’s season ended weeks ago, I guess he’ll unfortunately be back. Of course, if you root for a strong ECAC,by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: ECAC Early and Grad Departures 2024 - 19 days ago
Yea sorry but he loses a lot of credibility saying Psenicka is a flight risk, barring something unknown (grades, off-ice issue, etc etc). I think he picked two big wingers in the lineup with decent numbers and just threw it on a page for clicks.by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: NCAA QF - Denver - 20 days ago
It’ll be interesting to see who is voted the preseason favorite in the ECAC next year. Qunnipiac has been the top dog for a few years now, but we have narrowed the gap and will be the defending champs with a mostly returning roster. I suspect it will be a closer vote than usual.by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: Was that slashing? - 21 days ago
If it was called in the first period in November, it would be a debatable, but not egregious, call. Thought it was ridiculous with two minutes left in a tournament game where you mostly kept the whistle in your pocket the whole game. My two cents. And I know someone will say “A penalty is a penalty regardless of game circumstance etc” but that is not reality.by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: NCAA QF - Denver - 21 days ago
Tough loss. Great year with a lot of positives. There’ll be better days for this groupby CU2007 - Hockey
Re: NCAA Tournament 2024 - 22 days ago
Robb Q-Bucky in OT is such a win-win for me. Either the ECAC wins or Q loses. Happy either way. I’d call it a lose-lose. Either qpac wins or everyone says our conference sucks. Oh well. Go Wisconsinby CU2007 - Hockey
Re: NCAA Tournament 2024 - 22 days ago
RichH Jeff Hopkins '82 MSU pulls the goalie and ties it up. 4-4 with 30 secs left. Going to OT. Tough break for WMU, the played a smart possession game pinned in the MSU end so the goalie couldn’t leave until just over a minute remained. One big transition play and Sparty was able to tie it. And somehow left a guy WIDE open in front of the net on a fairly innocuous zone entryby CU2007 - Hockey
Re: NCAA Round 1 - Maine - 23 days ago
BearLover Larry72 chimpfood Man we’ve got a real winnable game up next too. Denver didn’t look good against UMass, will be gassed from double OT, and we beat them last year. Let’s get Schafer his frozen four that he deserves. Remember that Denver is playing essentially at sea level instead of 5000"+, they have a day off, and they all are in great shape (as is Cornell)! Agree that Denver dby CU2007 - Hockey
Re: Basking in the glow of #13 - 23 days ago
jtwcornell91 The ECAC Champions T-shirt is available for pre-order: It has Huggy Bear on it. It sells for $30. Interesting that the “old” logo is on the official merchandise on the Cornell Store. I still see it from time to time but assumed some external party just hadn’t updated yet. Now I don’t know what to think.by CU2007 - Hockey

While Adam has us in Springfield vs Maine (w/Denver - UMass), his colleague has us in St Louis vs Maine (w/ Michigan St - Western Mich). Springfield is a Thursday - Saturday regional, while St Louis is a Friday - Sunday.by CU2007 - Hockey

NIT vs Ohio State. That’s kinda cool.by CU2007 - Other Sports
Re: Harvard @ Cornell Saturday - 4 weeks ago
What was going on with the Harvard players not leaving the ice at the end of the 2nd period? They were all standing around by the Zamboni door. Was that related to the F Bombs? Can’t think they would actually care.by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: Harvard @ Cornell Saturday - 4 weeks ago
It was AWESOME to hear the students singing the Gary Glitter song last night. I miss that from the pre-covid days, when it would continue on after the puck dropped. Sorry you got the boot Dunc!by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: Opponents and Others 2023-24 - 4 weeks ago

ugarte gotta wonder who didn't vote for robertson on the blueline If it’s voted on by coaches, Pecknold.by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: Opponents and Others 2023-24 - 5 weeks ago
Interesting the chn model gives us a 2% chance of an at-large. I wonder what it is if we sweep Harvard, win the semi and lose the final to qpac. That is, how much of it is in our hands vs totally out of our control.by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Columbia hoops - 5 weeks ago
chimpfood Yale falls to brown in OT So if we win and Princeton happens to lose at Penn, all 3 teams would be 11-3. Anyone know who would get the #1 seed?by CU2007 - Other Sports
Re: Opponents and Others 2023-24 - 6 weeks ago
If we sweep the quarters, beat let’s say Colgate in the semis, and lose to qpac in the finals, how much help would we need for an at large? We talking 65% of in? 5%?by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: Women 2023-24 - 6 weeks ago
Trotsky marty Did the Saturday game start late or is my ESPN+ just sick. We're up 2-0 5 minutes in, so presumably we started late. Believe it’s the 2nd periodby CU2007 - Hockey
Re: Opponents and Others 2023-24 - 8 weeks ago
Right but NoDak fans think they should win the national championship every year (delusional / entitled). I think most of us just think we need ONE asap because we have had really good teams a lot over the past 30 years. Also exacerbated by Yale/Union/Qpac.by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: Opponents and Others 2023-24 - 8 weeks ago
Yea, enough of the “national title is a fun little desert” thing. It’s the ultimate goal.by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: Men’s Basketball 23-24 - 8 weeks ago
What will the line be @Princeton? I assume we are underdogs. Princeton -6? In all likelihood a 3 way tie for first when it’s all said and done?by CU2007 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell @ Clarkson, 2/23 - 8 weeks ago
BearLover fastforward About half of them are Where are you getting this information from? In last weekend’s postgame Schafer said a bunch of guys were sick, but that was a week ago and I’d assume they’re mostly better now. “DM me for details”by CU2007 - Hockey

Re: Cornell's Sprint Football HC stepping down - 8 weeks ago
ugarte i'm sure it's cool but very few schools play it so i struggle to care. it's not like wrestling where the diversity of weights is built into the format, since all of them wrestle together. i also wouldn't care about short-guy basketball. Short guy basketball is a great comparisonby CU2007 - Other Sports
