Re: Men's Lax: Brown at CU 4/6/24 - 6 weeks ago
I believe Wallace was in a boot and on a scooter at the 'Cuse game. Based on that look-I'd say he's possibly done for the year. No idea about Davis- just terrible injury luck for the Red with these key defenders.I don't know if it's the turf, a lot of bad luck, or a combo of both. However, they really need the SSDM to step up, w/o Davis or Bozzi. I really think they need to start to recruit betteby big29red - Other Sports

Is JJ Lombardi hurt, no sign of Aiden Blake, and what’s happened to Christopher Davis is he hurt as well?by big29red - Other Sports
Game going south, again - 7 months ago
Just another terrible sequence of penalties, long passes for touchdowns when they have a 33 -0 lead. This could end up very embarrassing. This coaching staff needs to go.by big29red - Other Sports
Re: Indoor sports facility announced - 7 months ago
This is huge! Finally!!! Glad it’s in central campus and that they will allow all student organizations to use it! I’ve been railing for this for years, great for recruiting!!!by big29red - Other Sports

Yup- terrible play calling when they needed 7!by big29red - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 7 months ago
Terrible call on 4th down. Everyone in the stadium knows Wang is going to keep it- what do they do, they run him into coverage! Oh well, another year of being the laughing stock of the league.by big29red - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 7 months ago
Embarrassing- This is just awful, 30 yds on self inflicted penalties and bad scheming. Bucknell is a terrible team, Archer should just resign, along with the entire staff. These kids deserve better as do the alumni.by big29red - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 7 months ago
The school prides itself on its top notch academics, community programing and alumni outreach-why shouldn't athletics and University wide recreational opportunities, facilities, et al, be held to the same standard? Our peer Ivy's certainly do, including MIT; not even in the league! I and others are not saying athletics should be a priority, just bring them into the current decade and demonstby big29red - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 7 months ago
Yes- Cornell has lacked the proper leadership to move both Varsity athletics and general student sporting endeavors forward! I agree, Beth Garrett would have been awesome. Our current president is MIA when it comes to athletics and the needs of our student athletes, especially in regard to enhancing the facilities needed to win. Our peer institutions are far ahead of us. Hey, at least we havby big29red - Other Sports

Never mind, Duke or UConn, didn’t even steal him from Yale – no other IVY offers.by big29red - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 7 months ago
The only way to win is to out recruit your rivals- can't do that now in Football, Baseball, and somewhat in Basketball, as well as most of the women's sports sans Hockey. Why- the facilities are subpar for years, and the legacy of losing does not go away. Recruits are constantly looking else where to our Ivy foes, especially in Football. HYP certainly gives more "financial aid", and theby big29red - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 7 months ago
All so true- My frustration lies in the fact that as an alum athlete,I am always hearing how something "can't" be done, as opposed to let"s do it! I'm embarrassed to bring friends to Scheolkopff, where I have many great memories of playing and watching my son play. Martha Pollack unfortunately does not have her finger on the pulse of athletics in a college setting and furthermore,by big29red - Other Sports
Re: Cornell football 2023 - 7 months ago
100% agree! The athletic facilities for both Varsity and non-Varsity athletes are subpar. Every other Ivy has blown by us in terms of their stadiums, fields, and facilities for the general student population. If you ever go to MIT, you would be amazed at what they have and what they offer their students. I just do not understand how this continues, year after year, and we look like a forgotten stby big29red - Other Sports
Re: Lacrosse Recruiting at Cornell - 14 years ago
I still don't understand the lack of blue chippers coming to Cornell. I would love to know from someone on the "inside" if Tambro even recruits these kids. Most of them mention Cornell as a consideration of theirs, but does'nt even seem to be in the top 3 or 4 schools when it comes down to their final decisions.I know playing time and money are considerations, but every top ten school hby big29red - Other Sports
Re: Lacrosse Recruiting at Cornell - 14 years ago
Agree....All Good Points- However, you are going to need a few horses to keep up w/ the other big boys, which is now starting to include teams like Brown, Harvard, and Notre Dame!by big29red - Other Sports
Re: Lacrosse Recruiting at Cornell - 14 years ago
I know Siebald was a top 20 recruit, not so sure of the others. The goalie recruit for '09 is a top 20 recruit, but everyone else I guess fits into the "diamond in in the rough" category. Year after year, it seems we do not get the top recruits, but somehow manage to win. Imagine if we got a few more of these "studs".by big29red - Other Sports
Lacrosse Recruiting at Cornell - 14 years ago
I just read a recruiting article at the Inside Lacrosse web site (my son is a HS player),and listed as 2010 top recruits as well as honorable mention recruits, had to be over 50 names w/ the college choice each athlete has made. Unfortunately, Cornell is not the final choice of any of these top athletes (many of who are Long Island products),not ONE! What gives??- I heard Tambroni is a great guy,by big29red - Other Sports
