Re: [W.Hoops] 64-47 Cornell, final. - 16 years ago
I agree with ugarte and Jordan! Unfortunately because the women's game is not as popular they try and keep teams within their region. It does stink as Bucknell and Syracuse got better first round games. We beat Bucknell handily and did not play the improved Syracuse team.by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell women get UConn - 16 years ago
There are currently 20 band members signed up through athletics to attend the women's game. We are allotted 30 spots by the NCAA.by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: [W.Hoops] ESPN.com coverage - 16 years ago
Gotta say, I was at the game and the women played very well...composed, with class, and shear determination. The crowd was fantastic and it was great to have the band and mascot present. I've followed the women for the past 6 years. Although painful at times to watch, am so glad the hard work of the staff paid off. Although I am not a Corenll grad, could not be more proud to be associated with tby bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: Women's bball roll call - 16 years ago
The athletic department has paid for a bus to bring fans down...those willing to pay $40 (this includes a ticket). At last check 30 people were on board. I the NYC alumni to come out as well.by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell will play DC/HU on Sunday - 16 years ago
Cornell won the bye...by virtue of a coin draw. Quarters from NY, NH, and Mass. were placed in a bag and out came the NY quarter first. Interesing way to decide who gets to rest Friday. Nice to see the women win! Congratulations!by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: Women's Hoops - 16 years ago
The women's team has done a great job coming up from the bottom of the league, just as the men have done. The women may have the best player in the league, Jeomi Maduka and the men have Louis Dale. You could not ask for two better coaches in Donahue and Smith....Unfortunately if both win titles, I forsee both leaving for other jobs.by bandit1 - Other Sports
women's basketball - 16 years ago
Come out and support the first place women's basketball team.....great to have two teams doing so well. They play Harvard/Dartmouth....by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: O'Byrne Arrested - 16 years ago
He went pro late in the summer for a reason and it was not cause he's a good guy.by bandit1 - Hockey
Re: O'Byrne Arrested - 16 years ago
Is anyone really surprised given his troubled behavior while he was here on campus...By the way, it is not funny.by bandit1 - Hockey
Re: A Comparison - 17 years ago
Didn't mean to annoy you. I always love reading about the fans perspective. Although I don't play "monday morning quaterback" for hockey, I do as a huge football fan.by bandit1 - Hockey
Re: A Comparison - 17 years ago
This is a fun thread to read, but my money is on Mike making the correct call......by bandit1 - Hockey
w basketball - 17 years ago
The women could earn a 2nd place Ivy finish this weekend, even if they wind up splitting. A young team, with only one graduating senior that did not provide a ton in terms of offense this year. Looks promosing for both the men and women for next year.by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: Ivy League considering post-season tourney? - 17 years ago
I am not in favor of a tournament...with the Big Red's luck of late, we'd actually win the season title and lose in the first round of tournament....leaving us at home yet again.by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: wbasketball - 17 years ago
women are tied with princeton 38 all....spirited first half...at times 3 freshman, a soph. and junior transfer on the court.by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: Women's swimming ... success? - 17 years ago
The team has no depth in terms of # of athletes AND more importantly don't have enough talent to swim well in the relay races. Those points, coupled with the fact we don't have the numbers swimming on day two equals #8.by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: wbasketball - 17 years ago
Unfortunately, yes you'd have to pay. Although, I think they stop selling tickets by half-time...you may want to try and peek in between the periods and see. When it was free, I loved the energy the hockey fans brought to the arena if only for a few minutes!by bandit1 - Other Sports
wbasketball - 17 years ago
Just a reminder to all hockey fans attending the games this weekend...Come out and support w basketball between periods. They are also in the hunt for an Ivy Title. Since no one ever seems to market the ladies, I'll do my part.by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: 2007-2008 Schedule - 17 years ago
There will be changes to the schedule...it appears they are over the contest limitations as set by the Ivy League.by bandit1 - Hockey
Re: Brutal loss against Harvard - 17 years ago
ugarte, only if the student-athlete graduates early would they be able to compete as a graduate student...note Kevin Rooney (football) graduated in 4 years, but still had a year of eligibility. He was not able to compete as a grad student..by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: THE ROOKIES!!!!!!!!! - 17 years ago
Wittman, Dale, and Reeves are fantastic young talent for the Big Red...Jeff Foote, although tall is unproven and Hartford has been here for 2 years, leaving him in need of? You guessed it a 5th year.by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: Brutal loss against Harvard - 17 years ago
Keith K, Harvard should have mentioned he graduated but for whatever reason did not. There are no automatic fifth years in this league. Makes it tough when a student misses an entire season due to injury but is on target to graduate on time.by bandit1 - Other Sports
Re: Brutal loss against Harvard - 17 years ago
It's called graduation....In the Ivy League if you don't have a reason to be in school academically, you don't get to play.by bandit1 - Other Sports
