Re: Thank you, seniors - 15 years ago
I'm thinking of the reverse...........from i-banker direct to the NHL? What do you think? If not as a player, I'd like to be the guy opening the penalty box door for the home team two out of three periods. Oh yes back to the thread - thanks to the seniors, your efforts and contributions are appreciated and you've left the program in good hands.by RatushnyFan - Hockey

Re: Bracket Predictions - 15 years ago
You mean you don't religiously check on Cornell alumni on hockeydb.com? Boston 96-97 There are important stats that you need to know, like PC was the only player on Boston in '96-'97 with a positive +/-. These are important tidbits to impress the ladies at cocktail parties. Oh yeah, works like a charm.by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Johnny's No More - 15 years ago
I never ate that popcorn once in the, oh say 500 times I was in Dunbars. Common sense prevailed. I did hear Brown Eyed Girl (ended up marrying one) and Magic Carpet Ride a few times as I recall.by RatushnyFan - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Bracket Predictions - 15 years ago
That was a really good LSSU team. Pushed Michigan to the brink in the CCHA championship game. I was at Michigan in grad school that year and saw them play a few times. I was very impressed with Sean Tallaire (30+ goal scorer) and their goalie was John Grahame who went on to play for the Bruins and Lightning. I wish I could have seen that game against LSSU but I had to go to Munn to watch Mikeby RatushnyFan - Hockey

Iggulden is currently back with the Sound Tigers. He was -4 in his last two games with the Isles. Back in Bridgeportby RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Hobey Baker finalists - 15 years ago
Chad Johnson has carried Alaska, he's at least an interesting candidate. 11-19-6 his first 3 seasons with about a 3.00 GAA and less than a 90% save %. His record doesn't blow you away this year (14-14-5) but his GAA (1.67) and save % (93.9%) are excellent this year. But the record alone doesn't warrant serious Hobey consideration IMHO. But where is Jordan Pearce if we're nominating goalies?by RatushnyFan - Hockey

I think some people on this board make Trekkies look well-adjusted. Holiday gift idea for your favorite eLynah friendby RatushnyFan - Hockey

Re: QF1 Photos are up - 15 years ago
These pictures are excellent. I'm an acknowledged skate freak..........I have 3 boys playing hockey (we're a Bauer family, currently wearing Vapor XXXX's). What kind of skates is Dan Nicholls wearing in photo 29 of 67? I think I recognize all of the other skate models on our guys.by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Bowling Green - 15 years ago
I don't doubt that. They need to keep working and announce a long-term solution publicly or their recruiting effort will be marginalized. But you know what? I'll take a 4 year scholarship to play hockey at BGSU.by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Could Cornell be a host team? - 15 years ago
It's a really nice arena. And they do a decent job of keeping it clean nearby. A little bit of a hassle to drive and park there (mostly after the game, trying to get out) even with the standard less than a full house of fans. The way they're playing the last couple of months people should get on board.by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Albany Roll Call - 15 years ago
Can't make it. But at least I'll be at my kids mite and squirt tournaments in Hershey, PA watching 8+ games.by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Bowling Green - 15 years ago
Good news, BGSU hockey will be fielding (icing?) a hockey team next year. I hope they are able to work towards a long-term solution as well. BGSU hockey updateby RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Could Cornell be a host team? - 15 years ago
How about Broome County Arena in Binghamton? I haven't been there but it seats 6,800 and is home to an AHL team. Probably still too small? Hey, they had the AHL all-star game there so it must be big enough.by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Johnny's No More - 15 years ago
Do they still have the jukebox with the vinyl 45's at Dunbar's? And Pep? Thread drift.by RatushnyFan - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Alumni in the Pros - March 2009 - 15 years ago
Not to mention he has an NHL size body, no history of failure at the NHL level..............why wouldn't they have brought him up earlier?by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Mike Iggulden scores his first NHL goal - 15 years ago
Jordan 04RatushnyFanHe and Jaffee have been talking about Iggulden a lot since his call-up, with no pronunciation issues. What have they been saying? I just saw the highlights on NHL on the Fly. I've only seen his highlights, it's historically been difficult to stomach a full Islanders game. Looks like his minutes are creeping up above 10 minutes the last couple of games. I can understand beingby RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Mike Iggulden scores his first NHL goal - 15 years ago
I've been asking the Iggy question for months, I still don't understand why they didn't bring him up until now. Glad he's been a regular scorer so far. Did you hear the announcer pause when trying to pronounce his name after he scored?by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Bowling Green - 15 years ago
Yes, there's some discussion on that on the USCHO board. LynahFan noted that her salary is $375k.........maybe that needs to be cut concurrently.by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Bowling Green - 15 years ago
Keith, that's what I'm looking for as well. I'm checking around to see if there's a targeted fundraiser. Don't go there yet ugarte!by RatushnyFan - Hockey

How do you think Union would fare versus Michigan?by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Bowling Green - 15 years ago
Did anyone see the news regarding Bowling Green? Bowling Green considering dropping hockey I think that this would be a tragedy, akin to the ECAC losing a program like RPI. BGSU hasn't been that competitive recently but they're a storied program. George Roll played there. Ron Mason and Jerry York coached there there. They've made the NCAA's 9 times and won the tournament in '83-'84 (undeby RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Ann Coulter On Cornell Hockey - 15 years ago
jtwcornell91RatushnyFanI despise Ann. Does the administration have the ability to revoke an embarrassing alumna's (happy?) degree? FYP (I guess you could argue it should be alumnae, genitive. No neuter jokes, please.)Thanks. I guess she is still deserving of the female graduate reference. It's a close call, though.by RatushnyFan - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Ann Coulter On Cornell Hockey - 15 years ago
No, I'm not a fascist. I'm not a Republican but I get along fine with many Republicans. Ann deserves special treatment for frequently getting her facts wrong and speaking like a complete idiot, regardless of her opinions or politics. Perhaps I missed some of the special classes that you took, it's always possible.by RatushnyFan - John Spencer Is Dead
