Re: Borque Leaves BU - 19 years ago
That's what they have "tutors" for. Not the kind of tutors the athletics department puts struggling athletes in touch with, the kind the kind your buddy Dom puts struggling athletes in touch with. Plenty of student-athletes do this (duh). And plenty don't. Kind of like students in general.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Attempting to retrieve the cowbell - 19 years ago
Oh my God. I didn't think it was possible, but reading this thread makes me hate people even more than I already do.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: McKee - 19 years ago
Sam (and Cornell Athletics) knew in advance that he was the winner of the Humanitarian Award, although it's safe to say the "entourage" probably would have been there regardless. The Hobey winner does not know in advance.by Jerseygirl - Hockey

Faithful coming in soooooo loud on the Vermont radio broadcast....by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Relaunch of Athletics Website - 19 years ago
I'm going through the site tonight, page by page, and letting them know where the errors are -- and the red and black question is clearly one of them. And yes, they know that I am dorking it out like this and are receptive to me doing so. So at least very little will be factually incorrect or formatted wrong on the site after tomorrow, even if the website is still not to everyone's liking.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Relaunch of Athletics Website - 19 years ago
Keep in mind there are still some kinks to work out on both sides -- Cornell Athletics will need to fix some typos, College Sports Online will need to check hosted feeds...that sort of thing. Probably a lot of that going on tonight behind the scenes.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Relaunch of Athletics Website - 19 years ago
Well, it's no busier than espn.com...I like it. And I know I'm biased. But I think it looks good and much more sophisticated than the old website.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Goalie for next year - 19 years ago
I'm over it. I was slightly drunk and the thought of being over 30 temporarily horrified me.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Albany Roll Call - 19 years ago
Jerseymother and I will be at the championship game should Cornell be playing, as the Jerseychildhood home is close to Albany. But it is not, interestingly enough, in Jersey. Jerseygirl is now going to bed, as she has a terrible Jerseycold and is Jerseydelirious.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Goalie for next year - 19 years ago
You feel old, Pace? 2013 is the year of my TEN YEAR reunion. F*cking hell...by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Sign ideas - 19 years ago
I'm sure I know people who could make that happen...by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Traylen's Pads - 19 years ago
Ohhhhhhkaaaaaaaaaaaaay...I think this inside joke has been played more than a cute freshman girl at Dunbar's on a Saturday night.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Traylen's Pads - 19 years ago
Will- That's exactly what I did my senior year of high school, when my next door neighbor, a West Point cadet, would bring his classmates home every weekend. It was glorious.by Jerseygirl - Hockey

Same with the fuhball players.by Jerseygirl - Hockey

I liked BU when DiPietro was on the team. Yeah, I said it.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Terrible Red Towels - 19 years ago
Just tell the sorostitutes (sp?) that red is slimming. Aw, I shouldn't be ripping on the pretty girls, esp. since a couple years ago I was pretending I was one of them... On that note, never assume that some of those gossips "taking up space" in the front rows had no idea what was going on on the ice. Although I am sure it's a cardinal (carnellian?) sin by most standards on this boarby Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Why are there no defense cheers? - 19 years ago
For the 2003 ECAC championship game, my mom, who is a high school art teacher, had her students make one of those warning signs like you buy in the hardware store. It said, "Beware of the Doug." Mom is great.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: 1983 Harvard game question - 19 years ago
Speaking of enforcement, rumor has it that one of Doug Murray's favorite tricks was to pin an opponent up against the boards and laugh in his ear as he held him there. It's probably not one of the most unique tricks in the book, but I think it's a hilarious mental picture. His poor victims just couldn't handle him. Not that this has anything to do with the thread, but I'd like to point out thatby Jerseygirl - Hockey

Alex, you know I am terrified of mascots. Did you have to?by Jerseygirl - Hockey

It doesn't matter if he's at Lynah on Friday if no one on his team can find him...by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: I tried... - 19 years ago
I think what we need right now is a good parable. Skip to the end if you want a point and not amusement: A long, long time ago, in a kingdom far, far, away, a kind, beautiful, and smart peasant girl named Jerseygirl sought employment in the kingdom of what is now known as NBC-Universal. She traveled many miles from her humble abode in the shadow of the ivory towers of Ithaca to a hamlet calledby Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Cyber sex! Who wants? - 19 years ago
Only 'cause I can't seem to bag you, Facetimer. Where's Rosenberg these days? Haven't seen him on the forum lately.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Cyber sex! Who wants? - 19 years ago
Yes he is, on a constant basis, despite being 250 miles away and having a girlfriend. (Do I get a big troll doll with a line through it now?)by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Happy Holidays - 19 years ago
Which begs the question: if all of us eLynah dorks were together celebrating Festivus, which member would have to be wrestled to the ground and pinned in order for the holiday to end? Somehow I don't think Age is the easy answer. (and yes, I am already bored at home.)by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Cornell's Hockey Treadmill - 19 years ago
My computer is about 1,000 years old so I can't have a look at the clip, but my worthless contribution to this thread will be to say that they have some sort of Precor skating machine at my gym. It makes me feel like quite the little badass skater because I seem to be the only one who knows how to use it. GRRRRR!by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros Dec. '04 - 19 years ago
Hehhehheh. I know, I know, "8 games, no goals, gonna be cut..." I remember freshman year.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros Dec. '04 - 19 years ago
A friend of mine tipped me off to this little tidbit, which many of you have probably already seen: Let the "hell of a kid, hell of a player" remarks commence.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: 2004-05 men's hockey media guide - 19 years ago
The thing that is causing the late release is three full-time staff (one of whom is an intern), doing the publications for all of the varsity sports. This is on top of the day to day stuff (game notes, web updates, gameday ops., etc.) they have to do. Student support is notoriously unreliable -- there are usually two good stat crew kids a year, and one or two good writers, if they're lucky. It'sby Jerseygirl - Hockey
Re: Hobey Baker Rink question - 19 years ago
If you wanted Jerseygirl to turn the heat up, you could have paid Jerseygirl's $200/month heating bill, because she couldn't afford it...of course, the Holland Tunnel Inn was right down the road.by Jerseygirl - Hockey
