Re: Topher Scott - 7 years ago
The 30 games are just league games probably. The U16 Syracuse Stars AAA midget team played 60 games last year. http://www.myhockeyrankings.com/rank.php?y=2015&a=4&v=117by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Topher Scott - 7 years ago
16U AAA midget hockey is 2-3 practices a week and 50-100 games, depending on the lunacy level of the coach/program. Virtually all 16U coaches have another job that pays the bills.by RatushnyFan - Hockey

Schafer would make UMass credible IMO. They'd be lucky to have him. Wonder if the Hockey East/ability to offer scholarships appeals to him. I imagine it would be difficult for him to leave. I hope that Schafer doesn't leave. Ratushny is an interesting idea as mentioned above, but his Red Bull tenure has gone well and he's also coaching the Austrian National team I think. I'm assuming he'dby RatushnyFan - Hockey

nshapiro billhoward Or we could've just won one or two more RS games. I don't like that defeatist attitude. It's not over yet. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?Forget it, he's rolling!by RatushnyFan - Hockey
Re: Syracuse lax gets commitment from 8th grader - 8 years ago
I live in the same town as this boy, my son used to play soccer with him. Several lax programs were all over him in 8th grade, he committed to UNC as a freshman. http://www.northjersey.com/sports/cooper-on-h-s-boys-lacrosse-don-bosco-s-joe-destro-on-fast-track-1.1437266?page=allby RatushnyFan - John Spencer Is Dead

sah67 Colin Greening threw down with Dion Phaneuf in a 3-2 loss against his former team: I like how Colin used his left hand jersey grab and lifted straight up, thereby throwing Phaneuf off balance. I'm guessing that takes a lot of strength. Colin gets the takedown and the win I'm presuming.by RatushnyFan - Hockey

Wishing the best for Moulson. That said, he looked really slow in the Rangers game last night. He's over 32 years old, sometimes this is just what happens. Fingers crossed.by RatushnyFan - Hockey

Too many prairie fires at Dunbar's.....tequila and Tabasco sauce. The boys used to buy them for me and dare me to drink them. I usually did. I think my stomach still has a lining but I'm not sure.by RatushnyFan - John Spencer Is Dead

Re: B1G Age Restrictions - 8 years ago
Jim, I think there's a target date but it is not in any way a commitment. My oldest son is 16 ('99 birth year) and plays Midget AAA hockey on a very good team. Some of his teammates have started to commit to colleges. One committed to Penn State and is expected to join the team in 2018-2019. He's also a '99 birth year, if he went right after graduating high school he'd be a natural freshman dby RatushnyFan - Hockey

Re: Alumni in the Pros -- March - June 2015 - 8 years ago
Can't believe anyone believes it's a goaltending issue versus team defense. Dubnyk seems to be a good goalie once he left Edmonton? Fasth and Scrivens are both decent. It's not just an issue with defensemen, either. They need more forwards who give a 200 foot effort every shift. Maybe Peter and Todd can show them some Youtube clips of Hossa, Toews, Bergeron, Datsyuk, etc.by RatushnyFan - Hockey

pfibiger Some nice words on some incoming recruits from: Sam Sternschein, RW, 6-1/180, Tri-City Storm (Hockey Essentials White) - He was the best player on the ice all weekend for this observer's money. He was my ninth-ranked forward at last summer's Select 16s, but he was even better this weekend. He's continued to develop, get stronger and use his power to his advantage. He has an exploby RatushnyFan - Hockey

Re: Tonight's game v. Penn State - 9 years ago
Penn State hit the post and the crossbar in a 10 second flurry in the third period when the score was 1-1.............two high quality chances. They score that goal and we probably lose 2-1. It was very tight and for stretches I thought we were outplayed. Gillam played great. I thought that we were outplayed in the first period and a good chunk of the third period. Was that Rob Pannell onby RatushnyFan - Hockey

Riley Nash is #1 in the NHL in terms of the cap hit/points "bargain hunter" metric. CapGeek - Nash I love CapGeek. Nice to see that Riley's ice time is up to 18 mins a game vs 12-13 mins a game the past two seasons. Hopefully he's cemented a solid role when Jordan Staal comes back.........or maybe they finally trade Eric Staal to the Leafs. I'll be surprised if Shanahan is asby RatushnyFan - Hockey
