LGR14 The a capella stopped when the band scuttled Gonna Fly Now at the start of the third and started with Glitter instead. And it stopped at the same time no matter where Cornell played - Lynah, MSG, etc. Gonna Fly Now was also one of the best moments of the game as a fan and really set the tone for an epic third period. Really a shame that it's gone. Don't get me started. It was psychoby Scersk '97 - Hockey
Re: 2023 ECAC Post Season - 1 year ago
scoop85 We did a nice job all night limiting their skill from taking over the game, but Harvard played a sound defensive game, and we missed the net too often on most of the few good chances we had. Shane was great tonight, but it was just not enough. For my money, this all goes back to losing to SLU and Clarkson late at home. Not being the “home” team is quite a disadvantage.by Scersk '97 - Hockey

Chris '03 Not interested in seeing Harvard pull even with 12 titles and four since Cornell's most recent title thank you very much. Would rather see the Quinnipiac win if I had to choose in this fictitious game. Flaming pile of asteroid-obliterated rubble it is, then!by Scersk '97 - Hockey

And now I have to admit that the Saints announcers are getting me a bit misty. What else do they have in Canton? They’re obviously crushed, the team’s crushed, but there’s always next year.by Scersk '97 - Hockey

Trotsky Maybe Shane can do that. He looked better tonight han he has in a while on those big second period saves. I'll be diplomatic and say that I think our best chances always lie in playing a strong possession game, netting some early goals, and then blocking a lot of shots.by Scersk '97 - Hockey

Trotsky I am very hopeful we join Q and Harvard who I think are a lock to get to Placid. The 4-slot is going to be a shitshow; could be anybody. Disagree. If any team is ripe for a quarters upset, it's Harvard. I hope their habit of letting games slide to 3x3 overtime gets them booted, because their "special purpose" is gone in the playoffs. Much greater likelihood of this, of coby Scersk '97 - Hockey

Trotsky I love the Gen Zers -- they might actually be first psychologically healthy Americans in history. "What a difference in this generation!" We must know different Gen Zers. Trotsky Scersk '97We used to make fun of the kids who didn't go out and spent all their time holed up in their dorm rooms playing No-friend-os. ('Cause god knows you can only work so much. Everyone needs some release.) Now, that's every kid, briefly as a necessity or otherwise as a response to a lack of options, but mostly as a choice or a symptom of phone addiction. toddlose It’s literally horrible how collegetown is now. I drove thru on a recon mission after getting accepted, but if it was then how it is now, it’d have been a much tougher decision. The juniors/seniors are missing out on so much of the college experience. Things are weird everywhere. arugula Have you noticed that we always seem to have small goalies? Watching Shane, he just kind of shrinks into the net. We don’t need a 6’6” keeper like Clarkson, but 6’1” would be good. They claim Shane is 6’0”. Lol. Don't get me started. Dafatone We tend to struggle with defensively sound teams that lack firepower more than we do with the most high-powered teams. Both opponents this weekend clogged passing lanes well and didn't give up many odd man rushes. We have to play very, very tight until we open up a lead. It's excruciating.by Scersk '97 - Hockey

chimpfood I’m in an absolute terrible mood as both the basketball and hockey teams shat all over their playoff hopes. I’m getting real tired of the hockey team having a late season collapse against terrible teams. Now we’re gonna have to win both next weekend and sweep our quarterfinal series to feel decent about our NCAA chances. Beeeej sah67 Schafer was more upset about the missed interference call that led directly to the 4th Clarkson goal: he was still on the ref's case about that one during the handshake line. On this one I disagreed with Schafer - skating backwards into a Clarkson skater who’s not skating toward you then hitting him and falling does not an interference infraction make. BearLover The refs just spotted Colgate the opening goal. That never, ever, ever gets called as a roughing penalty on one team in the NHL (or any league with reputable refereeing). Never mind the rampant interference everywhere. Cutters getting interfered with, something Harvard likes to do as well, is a pet peeve.by Scersk '97 - Hockey

Chris '03 Give My Regards RichH I don’t pay close attention to little regional tournaments like this. Was this also a 5-min 3x3 OT w/ shootout format? Or do they play real hockey in Bostontown? 20-minute OT (Harvard scored at 19:59) No. It was 3x3 for five minutes. Apparently due to an NCAA requirement. Harvard scored at 4:58.5. Just watched it. 3x3 overtime remains incredibly dumb.by Scersk '97 - Hockey
