Re: Student Season Ticket Information - 13 years ago
billhoward Help us older alums verify what seems to be the obvious: The ticket line and ticket rules have been eased way back because Lynah is no longer a sellout at least for people wanting season (not just Harvard single-game) tickets? BTW older isn't all that old. Half of all Cornellians going back to 1875 are the ones who've been students since 1990. Correction, that must be half of all lby Jacob '06 - Hockey
Re: Non-hockey alumni in the pros - 13 years ago
ugarte Jacob '06 ugarte And Randy Wittman has signed in Massagno, Switzerland. I assume JTW has already ordered the uniform. Ryan Wittman. Randy is his dad, the former coach of the Timberwolves. How do you know that Randy didn't sign with Switzerland and that the problem with the post is that it shouldn't be in an alumni thread? Huh? How? Did you follow the link or something? Yes.by Jacob '06 - Other Sports

CUontheslopes Jacob '06 CUontheslopes Kyle Rose CUontheslopes A sad day. Its becoming increasingly clear that if we want to compete on a national level in athletics, the athletic dept. is going to have to increase the endowments for some key coaching positions, e.g. basketball and lacrosse so we don't just become a coaching conduit for other schools. It's incredibly frustrating to lose coaches toby Jacob '06 - Other Sports

Why would anyone trade for him before he is signed if he can just wait out and become a free agent if he plays his senior year?by Jacob '06 - Hockey

Tom Pasniewski 98 Jacob '06 Trotsky Sounds like one of Army's key players was hurt right at the half. It was their goalie. Looked like he pulled his groin or hamstring Think it was his ankle and he is not starting the second half. It was his groin and he did start the 2ndby Jacob '06 - Other Sports

Can we win this faceoff? What have we lost, like 12 straight?by Jacob '06 - Other Sports
Re: Seeded 7th -- Facing Loyola - 13 years ago
Josh '99 Did he jump that faceoff too? Not as much as the first one, but still. Looked like it a little bit. That is the problem with the latest iteration of the faceoff regulations. Guys can pretty much jump right away after the set signal, and its just a matter of how frequently you can get away with the false start.by Jacob '06 - Other Sports
Re: Seeded 7th -- Facing Loyola - 13 years ago
After a really awful open shot given up on a pick, they defended that last posession pretty well. I hope we can actually win a faceoff here to start 2OTby Jacob '06 - Other Sports

Re: Seeded 7th -- Facing Loyola - 13 years ago
How the hell did a really obvious loyola offsides turn in to an offsides penalty on cornell? 9-4 late 3rd quarter Edit: Loyola on a 3 goal run to get back into the game, 9-5by Jacob '06 - Other Sports

Re: Places to eat in Ithaca - 13 years ago
dag14 Joe's isn't bad, it is just seems like an Olive Garden knockoff, at least for dinner. My choice in C'Town is the Souvlaki House on Eddy St., just down the hill from Dunbars. My favorite pizza in Ithaca and great Greek food, too. The calzones there are pretty great (and large) also.by Jacob '06 - John Spencer Is Dead

Re: Lax 2010 touranment seeding - 14 years ago
billhoward Who knows if the NCAA thinks we belong on the road for the first game in 2010, or if the seeding path for the second game puts us up against a Virginia or Syracuse or North Carolina. Something we might have avoided had we beaten Syracuse. Who knows if we are even going to make it in? If we don't beat Princeton we are pretty much going to have to win the ivy tournament to get in.by Jacob '06 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell vs. Syracuse Lax - 14 years ago
Part of the problem with the time is that IIRC, the scoreboard at the crescent doesn't have a buzzer hooked to it, and they use someone blowing an airhorn to signal the end. So there is another little delay there and the ref can't just use the sound to decide the end. Its pretty much impossible for a ref to watch the clock and the ball going over the goal line, so I don't really blame them for thby Jacob '06 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell vs. Syracuse Lax - 14 years ago
semsox Well that's pretty much the worst thing I've ever seen The championship game was much worse. We had no business being tied with Syracuse with 2 minutes left this year, Fiore stood on his head and then some. Its pretty respectable for this team that it took until the last second for Syracuse to win.by Jacob '06 - Other Sports
