Re: New rink for Duluth? - 18 years ago
Very nice looking building, very invocative of Thom Mayne's work. They've made a good choice for architects: HOK is a widely respected sport venue architecture firm. Good luck to UM-D in the fight to get their new facility(and hopefully steal some future talent from the piss-colored flea-bitten rodents to the south).by Ben Rocky '04 - Hockey
Re: Louis Chabot- Senior Weekend - 18 years ago
Who is to say that he won't get put in if McKee loses a shutout at some earlier point in this season? I seem to remember a few games in 02-03 where the minute Lenny lost a shutout, Marr would immediately get put in net just to get him playing time.by Ben Rocky '04 - Hockey

Re: What I like about being a Big Red fan - 18 years ago
Ryan, that trip was an experience, and I won't forget it. Stupid Wisconsin taking forever to drive through, the really nice St. Cloud State fans telling us that the entire WCHA was rooting for Cornell, hitting on the girl on the interstate with the dry-erase board and then writing to her that "Golden Gophers suck!". Re: Wikipedia Article - 18 years ago
It is also supposed to be concise, informative & relevant. No offense to us, but more than a paragraph and a quote or two about the Lynah Faithful seems like it would overplay our role in the grand scheme of things.by Ben Rocky '04 - Hockey
Re: Location of ticket sales in 2003 & 2002 - 18 years ago
VBR is run by Cornell students interested in radio and business, and has Cornell's college radio FM license, but it is a completely financially independent non-profit corporation (unlike a certain 100% college supported station on south hill. The reason that the has non-college content is that it has to make money to afford its license, transmitter etc. and the largest part of its audience is toby Ben Rocky '04 - Hockey

Re: Student Season Tickets? -email - 18 years ago
So perhaps it won't be Saturday night, unless they want to see who the real hockey fans are: those people who won't be drunk & at Johnny O's but instead ready, in their cars, listening to the radio. Not that I have a problem with that.by Ben Rocky '04 - Hockey

Re: Captains - 18 years ago
During my senior year, Vesce was injured for most of the year and that left Wallace to be our only captain on the ice. By the time of the Colgate weekend, he was skating with two broken hands. I'd prefer to have three I guess.by Ben Rocky '04 - Hockey

Re: Curious quote from NYT - 18 years ago
My point is that Cornell has massive amounts on money, and in my humble opinion, they don't spend it wisely. Instead of building the next massive research building, they should hire some professors to teach undergrads and rebuild buildings that are falling apart, like Sibley, Warren, Rand or Stocking.by Ben Rocky '04 - Hockey
Re: Curious quote from NYT - 18 years ago
Beeeej- Firstly, I don't see where you are coming up with the $10 million number. Say you hire 30 new faculty members @ a salary of $100,000/year. Thats $3mil/year for these new faculty members. If you kept them for 30 years, thats $90 mil. Where should they find the money? Cancel the new Life Sciences Building being built on Alumni Field. Its budgeted at $140mil. The way I see it, 30 newby Ben Rocky '04 - Hockey
