Re: Cornell mentioned by Seth Davis - 14 years ago
A few notes not worth their own post... Interesting that ESPN's Bracketology has Cornell as one of the first four at-large bids out of the tourney: Also, Cornell receives 16 votes in the coaches poll and 12 in the AP. Anyone know the last time an Ivy team received this many votes in a poll?by Luke 05 - Other Sports

Last time was 37 years ago. • Cornell’s last win against an SEC team came in 1972-73 when it defeated Arkansas, 78-77, in the first round of the Razorbacks’s own invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.by Luke 05 - Other Sports

1) Is there a way to have the countdown tie to the correct time zone? The Niagara game starts in 9 minutes for me... 2) I enjoyed that you used to be able to see the number of new posts in each thread. Are we able to bring that back? 3) Can it get even awesomer?by Luke 05 - Hockey

The Dallas Morning News Sports page has been able to take some time away from discussing punting and giant video boards to profile the Stars. Today's candidate: Raymond Sawada Preseason less than a month away!by Luke 05 - Hockey

Re: NHL favorite team straw poll (Day 4) - 15 years ago
Living in Dallas for the last 4 years, I've invested in partial season tickets since it's the only hockey in town (David McKee's Texas Tornado were in hiatus last year while their rink was under construction). With each passing year and with the paucity of hockey news available for other clubs, they have gained the majority of my hockey heart. The Flyers remain a rooting interest for me, but iby Luke 05 - John Spencer Is Dead

If the Sharks win, Murray gets his name on the cup. If the B's win, Bitz only gets his name engraved if he appears in a Finals game if I recall cup naming rules correctly.by Luke 05 - Hockey

On the replay, it looks like the Bemidji goalie knocked the Cornell player's stick away from him. Wouldn't this be a penalty?by Luke 05 - Hockey

Sawada was sent back to the AHL today to make room for the Avery recall waiver move. Even though Avery will never play for Dallas again they still need to make room so Ray was sent to Manitoba. Word is, he's still on the team plane headed to San Jose for the game tomorrow and might play on their road trip this week still.by Luke 05 - Hockey

Re: Fish - 16 years ago
My favorite way to sneak in fish was to tape them around my ankle, wear a knee high sock and then come into Lynah using crutches. They never will go near your ankle since they are assumed you are injured. The best part about this strategy is that after the game you are walking out carrying crutches as the ushers look befuddled. 8 point weekend. LGRby Luke 05 - Hockey

San Jose Sharks: Patrick Marleau will make his two wingers useful in fantasy. We just don't know who they are yet. Ryane Clowe overachieved last season, while Steve Bernier played himself out of the top six. What about some young guys like Devin Setoguchi or Mike Iggulden? This is a battle to watch.
