Re: Women 2023-24 - 3 months ago
Cornell was never up by 3 goals; it was tied after the first period and Cornell led 3-1 when Q scored 2 to tie after pulling the goalie with about 2 minutes left in the third period.by dag14 - Hockey

scoop85 upprdeck scoop85 I just noticed that there’s no game write-up yet on the Cornell Athletics’ website. Hard to fathom that a school with our resources would allow such an embarrassment. you mean Athletics get their act together? I did find the game summary, but it wasn’t showing on the home page. And to their credit they actually have game quotes! Jane McNally also had a nice game stby dag14 - Hockey

They are seniors or others who have exhausted their Ivy League eligibility as of the end of 2024. They are looking to go to grad school and play another year.by dag14 - Other Sports

Hindsight is always 20/20 -- what I remember from those days is marveling at how little anyone actually knew about the virus and the consequences of group behavior. It was perfectly acceptable to me to go into isolation even when it was difficult to do and painful. Because the worst-case scenario was being dead, and I will take unhappy over dead any day of the week. So looking back, a lot ofby dag14 - Hockey

Can't remember the season because I am old but at one point in the 80's we were 0-5 going into the break and then won 20 games in the spring. It isn't over until the season ends. Happy Holidays. Enjoy your time with family, etc.by dag14 - Hockey

Tuned into day 2 a little late; got confused about the start time. My initial observation watching Cornella wrestle: I HATE THOSE SINGLETS! The design reminds me of Ithaca High School athletic apparel. Too "cute" for grown men .by dag14 - Other Sports
Re: New Cornell football coach search - 4 months ago
rss77 Re-Ag School comment-Apparently Bob Blackman had the same idea. I attended a meeting where then Ag School Dean, Keith Kennedy, gave a talk. He said that Blackman approached him about using the Ag School to bring in football players. Kennedy said he literally threw him out of his office. Any coach who is recruiting in New York will use the Ag School. And ILR and Human Ecology. With noby dag14 - Other Sports

I am again enjoying the game on ESPN+ but after yesterday, I am not going to post anything of note other than to say the 1st period has ended and Cornell's second goal, scored late in the period, was a thing of beauty.by dag14 - Hockey

Cornell blows away Sacred Heart 48-3 -- 45 minutes from start to finish including intros and national anthem. No match at 125, no halftime, and barely any breaks between matches.by dag14 - Other Sports

I am going to quit posting since Q just scored as the have controlled possession in the 2nd period.by dag14 - Hockey
Re: Women 2023-24 - 5 months ago
The crappy camera work continues as the women host Q. As for the play, I think Q is the best team we have seen so far, especially their goaltending. We have had the better of the play as the 2nd period gets underway but can't get a puck past her.by dag14 - Hockey

And another ppg about halfway through the 3rd period. We can't score even strength but we are 3-3 on the power play.by dag14 - Hockey
Re: Women 2023-24 - 5 months ago
2-0 after another ppg. I have the sound muted so no clue who scored but Izzy had the perfect pass assist.by dag14 - Hockey
Re: Women 2023-24 - 5 months ago
Women up 1-0 with a ppg about 5 minutes into the 2nd period. Fraiser in goal - not sure why - but she is holding her own. Either Dartmouth is way better than Harvard or we are not playing with the same intensity as yesterday. Some sloppy play. We scored on Dartmouth's first penalty and we just killed our own first penalty.by dag14 - Hockey
Re: 11/10 Dartmouth game thread - 5 months ago
I now live in Denver so I have to rely on what the camera shows but I was in Lynah for almost every home game until 2018. My comment was merely a reaction to the announcer's characterization of the attendance, not a judgement. People show up late. Now in the second period, most of those empty seats are gone.by dag14 - Hockey

Re: 11/10 Dartmouth game thread - 5 months ago
One of the announcers commented on how many people are at the game and how great it is to see the support. Since I see some empty seats, I am guessing attendance at the last home weekend wasn't great.by dag14 - Hockey
