Re: Scrivens inability in big games - 15 years ago
Whether or not we would "trade Scrivens" or simply acknowledge mediocre play, he certainly should have stopped goals 2 & 3 last night. They were not difficult shots, with the second occurring at an angle outside of the circle and the third slipped under his stick when he was caught cheating to move right. Though both goals aren't exactly his fault, they could be stopped by severalby canuck89 - Hockey

Re: The Athletic Department and Cornell Hockey - 16 years ago
It's quite simple. Violators are escorted out by both a rink usher and the nearest police officer. You are then asked for your ID, which if you don't have (or claim not to have) is a violation of campus code of conduct. At this point, an individual either shows their ID or is referred to the JA for failure to comply with a university official. For most of us who have future applications for jby canuck89 - Hockey
Re: UMass 0 at Cornell 0 (Friday) postgame - 16 years ago
I couldn't agree more. This was one of the best ref'd games I've seen in 4 years here, especially since the NCAA started calling games more strictly and keeping an eye out for obstruction. Compared to Dell, Feola, and Hansen, MacDonald seemed to show proper restraint and was definitely very fair. God, I hate Dell so much...by canuck89 - Hockey
Re: The ushers have gone TOO far - 17 years ago
sah67Still a little irked by some of the complaints/generalizations about usher behavior this year...I have not had one issue or problem with them this year, and personally have not seen any behavior by any ushers in the C/D/F areas that struck me as anything but kind, courteous, or helpful. Sections A and B haven't been as lucky.by canuck89 - Hockey
Re: The ushers have gone TOO far - 17 years ago
To explain a little (unfortunately): 1. AD demands that the tickets be returned by a certain date, otherwise the JA gets a referral for failure to comply. This does result in a refund of the remaining unused tickets, however. 2. As you've mentioned, the individual can acquire tickets through some other means and still attend games, because it would be extremely rare for an usher to remembeby canuck89 - Hockey

I would also say that it's not the drummer's fault. Sure, starting at a slower tempo would remedy the situation; however, the drummer's currently chosen beat is fine until the clapping and cheering starts to rush. Unfortunately, the drums are not heard very well at the other end of the rink, which only adds to the confusion.by canuck89 - Hockey
Re: As Expected, "Zero Tolerance" For Friday Night - 17 years ago
Well, after purposefully not participating in "See ya ..., you goon" because I saw an usher watching me the whole game, I was removed anyway for supposedly using profanity in that cheer. Yeah, good times...by canuck89 - Hockey

Re: Reminder - Hockey Ticket Preregistration - 17 years ago
1. 2004-2005 was a lot better than last year. Less than 100 people were waiting around on central for the annoucement; all others came running/driving like crazy. 2. Yes, last year should have been done on Saturday with more facetimers out partying and such. So? The 2005 system was almost identical to the one of 2004, however, then the system was new and students didn't know what to expby canuck89 - Hockey

I went at 12:30pm today and got number 756. This is a little odd because my friend got number 763 on Friday afternoon. Also, the two people after me got 753 and 754 (What happened to 755?). Any of you have any idea about what this might mean?by canuck89 - Hockey
Re: What's the word on Moulson? - 17 years ago
Ari, i'm not condoning his behavior -- yes I did read the whole thread and was aware of what he wrote. My only point was that emotion just gives people like that more ammo to continue. Just present a well-thought argument without insult (or subtle jabs) and there's nothing more he can do.by canuck89 - Hockey
Re: What's the word on Moulson? - 17 years ago
calgARI '07You're right. I'm wrong. Because Moulson is dominating rookie pond hockey games, he's going to be a star in the NHL. Ari, sarcasm is completely unnecessary. Getting emotional just because Harrier disagrees with you is completely juvenile. Express your viewpoint in a good argument, as you are capable of, and there is no need for anything extra.by canuck89 - Hockey
Re: Hocky Tickets 2006/7 - 17 years ago
It was still dumb to give them out at lynah. Besides, that didn't result in the best fans getting the best tickets. Over 2000 people were waiting in that area on central. I still say an unannounced quiz on cornell hockey would reward the best fans with better numbers, and it is SAFE.by canuck89 - Hockey
Re: CU to charge students for athletic events - 17 years ago
Interesting point. For some months now I have had a similar idea in mind. The Athletics Department obviously wants the safest, fairest, and most academically feasible method for handing out tickets. So I say: 1. Continue the method of waiting at night for a week for an announcement by radio/email. 2. Upon hearing the announcement, a server with a ~10 question CUhockey quiz opens up (withby canuck89 - Hockey
