Re: data streaming question for the smart phone techies - 10 years ago
Looks like the whcu stream on TuneIn uses 32 kbps = 4 kBps. Three hours of streaming that will come to roughly 42 MB of data usage.by nr53 - John Spencer Is Dead

I had a friend convince people he was a new father, complete with baby pictures, facebook posts and some friend congratulating him to help spread the joke. He spread this over a few months but had the birth occur on the 1st so it still counts.by nr53 - John Spencer Is Dead

I'm not imagining that the home game against Harvard is going to be on NBCSports right? They mentioned it a few times last weekend while they had some other College Hockey on, and it's on chn's schedule but I don't see anything about it on here...by nr53 - Hockey
Re: Full Shields closer to being eliminated - 11 years ago
MattS cbuckser Jim Hyla I'd don't understand how the full sheild impairs peripheral vision, however. I have never played ice hockey without a cage, and I am happy to have my teeth, jaw, nose, and facial bones intact. I think it doesn't take very long to get used to wearing a birdcage or full shield. I am highly skeptical that moving from cages to 3/4 shields would reduce injuries. I hby nr53 - Hockey
Re: Other Regional Scores - 12 years ago
Lowell scores to make it 3-2 on a very weird play where a Union player lost the puck going behind his net and it went right to a Lowell player who basically had a free shot since the goalie wasn't even looking in the right direction. If Lowell wins this game they can thank two really lucky goals.by nr53 - Hockey

Re: Cornell Alumni in the Pros: March 2012 - 12 years ago
Josh '99 nshapiro I agree completely...but shootout is here to stay, and creating an extra point for a game that goes into overtime is bogus. If they want to go as far as the 5-point system you suggest, they could at least go to 3 for winning a hockey game, 2 for winning a shootout, 1 for losing a shootout, and 0 for losing a hockey game. I'm a fan of this as well. Losing in overtime should notby nr53 - Hockey

Josh '99 RatushnyFan Cornell alumni unrelated thread drift: Dan Boyle beat the snot out of Derick Brassard, wow. Beat down.Isn't beating the snot out of people Murray's job? Relative to Boyle, yes but Murry has been moved to the second D pair with Brent Burns and wasn't on the ice for any of the late-game shenanigans (that I noticed at least). He also hasn't had to do much fighting in recentby nr53 - Hockey

Some people know just where to go and what to do to be successful. Aaaaand they're still using the picture from when he was in the Kings organization. ajh258 I just want us to beat Yale if we face them. That's my dream before graduation. And beating BU next year at MSG would be nice too. If both happens, then I'll be rolling in happiness. Back in my day (a whole 4 years ago) Cornell never lost to Yale. 6-0-2 over those 4 years and a few of those years we completely outclassed them. Kinda crazy to watch them now. Rita According to the TSN announcers, Ryan O'Byrne got cut by an Edmonton skate (Taylor Hall's) in the first period of tonight's game and he has yet to return. I didn't see the play and I'm not sure how serious it is. Ouch...by nr53 - Hockey

nr53 I'll put the schedule up and send a link to it when I have some time, probably next week or so Alternatively, you can download the calendar from collegehockeynews.com. Check out the link on the schedule page: Time zones seem a bit messed up however, games show up at 3pm pacific for me but it's at least easier to drag pre-made events than create brand new ones.by nr53 - Hockey

Re: Meet and Greet with Byron Bitz '07 at Panthers game on April 8 - 13 years ago
Hate to say it but Bitz hasn't quite been as prolific a scorer as you mention. The 5 goals is his season total, only one of which have come while playing for the Panthers. Still, glad something like this has been arranged. It has been great to be able to meet Douglas Murray here in San Jose the past few years.by nr53 - Hockey
