Re: Albany at Cornell Men's Lacrosse Saturday, April 1, 2025 - 2 months ago
losing Dalton on the backside crease for the 1st goal I can see. so many other scoring options whose jersey number might be a higher priority but for the same set to work on the next possession with Kirst being unguarded is just real bad defenseby Cornell95 - Other Sports

Re: Cornell lacrosse 2025 (Tues 4/1 UAlbany) - 2 months ago
Just took a glance at the schedule on the Cornell Athletics website and it is showing game time as 3pm against Albany Was thinking it was an evening game, maybe moved up because April is starting off with highs in the low-40s ? Anyways, just an FYI to the forum if you likewise were thinking this was a 6pm or 7pm gameby Cornell95 - Other Sports

without even getting in to whether the program should become an active portal shopper as a regular strategy is there really consensus that Keopple wouldnt be a reasonable backstop to the defense next year not sure there has been sufficient starts to say he doesnt have what it takes sure he didnt platoon this year with Shane who was a returning Richter award finalist and senior, that doesnt mby Cornell95 - Hockey

10-1 at the half. is this an opportunity to get some minutes from players down the depth chart? trying to enjoy this season, but the number of senior starters is going to be a challenge for next year would be nice to have some of the underclassmen at multiple positions get some timeby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: NCAAs 1st rd. Cornell vs. MSU - 3 months ago
while the whole sequence was nice, on replay how good the saucer pass from Mack to Major was stood out Major made that look easy, and I would venture there arent many guys on the team with the hands to collect that and then send it backby Cornell95 - Hockey

has/will NIL money move in to wrestling? if so, is it more likely to allow PSU to continue to dominate the team title, or allow someone like Nebraska to close the gap faster?by Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Wrestling 2024-25 - 3 months ago
I thought PSU was running away with the team title (again) But they lost a fair number of matches today and Nebraska multiple wrestlers still in the hunt Can Nebraska close the gap?by Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Wrestling 2024-25 - 3 months ago
watch the Shapiro match. got the ankle pick/single leg so many times and couldnt generate points from it not sure if Shapiro thought he could surprise him by going for an upper body throw or that was just the opening he had whatever the strategy, Taylor was too strong/defensive to go down and then countered for points (twice)by Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2025 - 3 months ago
will be some tough film review significant turn was the unforced turnover when we were on the EMO, up 7-4 PSU long pole scored in transition to make it 7-5 Cornell coaching staff will look back on use of timeouts as well Learning opportunities, tough Princeton squad up next (would be nice to have field temps above 45)by Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2025 - 3 months ago
I need to go back and watch the replay but I agree, I didnt think possession was established, both players ran in for GB with heads down how does Cascadan draw the 2min non releasable there ??by Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2025 - 3 months ago
strange game, was trying to remember the last time I saw a contest with a total of zero man up situations (not saying that Cornell didnt have some no-calls, were certainly a few pushes and moving picks I thought Richmond got away with) Casscadan won a ton of faceoffs cleanly out the front, and then bobbled the scoop leading to an eventual Richmond groundball Is this a technique issue? Re: Indoor sports facility announced - 4 months ago
speaking from VERY limited knowledge... one of the field hockey specific requirements is the field should not be crowned I think outdoor fieldturf fields are still crowned to encourage drainage, and this has obvious impact on the roll of the ball so not only astroturf instead of fieldturf, but drainage and grading for a truly flat playing surface is desired that said I am surprised that Ithaby Cornell95 - Other Sports

I will absolutely regret jumping in on this thread... BearLover Here are some things I said in this very thread: “I’m no expert … my guess is … this suggests to me.” Does that sound like someone who thinks they know more than they do? For the SU game the Canadian and United States anthems were played over the PA system guessing we might see the pep band in the stands doing both when the weather is better and students arent on breakby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2024 - 1 year ago
I went to the SU game with my brother and sister (SU fans, I tolerate them LOL) and we had no issues getting tickets walking up. I wouldnt expect the crowd to be larger for Brown (less rain but still chilly, and I assume no Brown fans while SU had some diehards in attendance) bathrooms and a concession were open. I thought the tickets were still $10, but it does look like they have gone upby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell lacrosse 2024 - 1 year ago
I was at the game (sister has season tickets) TBH, neither team looked great... but Duke was awful. Syracuse D has been steadily improving but many of the turnovers were unforced. Just sloppy passing, balls not coming out of the stick clean. (I feel like I read a post on the fanlax forums that Coach Gait has his guys setting up their sticks differently and using 'grippy' balls (?) at home, so vby Cornell95 - Other Sports

Re: MLAX: @Denver 2/24 - 1 year ago
quick note, a tough loss but lets not get down on the team too much lost by 1 on the road to a team with 2 more games under their belt, our top faceoff man not on the field and a challenging officiating crew I have great faith in the team and coaching staff Tough loss, and hopefully not a major factor for late season PWR Same as the hockey team, the margins can unfortunately be very thin foby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: MLAX: @Denver 2/24 - 1 year ago
never seen the mouthguard out get called in the middle of a dodge the Kirst violation was so obvious and the ref was right there (not he could have missed the push and just turned to see Kirst already on the ground in the crease Davis getting mugged at midfield was also an obvious call right in front of the refby Cornell95 - Other Sports

Re: MLAX: @Denver 2/24 - 1 year ago
time expires, Denver wins 17-16 I would guess coach will have some choice video clips and words for the NCAA officials if they have any system like hockey does A tough lesson for Kirst to not yell at the refs, unfortunately the turning point of the game letting the Pios get back in the game on that unreleasableby Cornell95 - Other Sports
