JasonN95 Jeff Hopkins '82 One thing I heard was that they dropped Huggy Bear because people thought it was "too aggressive." Not sure Snarky Bear will be revived if people don't like aggressive logos. I’ve always called him “Skeptical Bear”. I try to encourage my daughter, soon to be a Cornell grad herself, to always have at least one garment with him on it.”Grumpy Bear” for me. Aby Robb - Other Sports

BearLover Dafatone pfibiger Dafatone BearLover adamw I should probably just shut up - but I'm not good at that. I think Ben Syer and Topher are great guys. Neither will be the next coach. Casey Jones is one of my favorite people in hockey, and I think he's a great coach. However, he's only 4 years younger than Coach Schafer - and so it won't be him either. Re: Recruits 2024 and Beyond - 15 days ago
marty It says a lot about the players too. Think of a second string wrestler who is essentially the practice partner for a first stringer. John Irving, the author, talks about not being able to complete 4 years at Pitt (I think it was Pitt) as a practice partner. And he thinks those that can do that have character that many do not. It takes more skill than I can tell to play the second fiddleby Robb - Hockey

marty BearLover Pghas My understanding is that Wishart is headed to play at Middlebury. Such a difficult thing to predict who will develop and how. Guys who lit it up in juniors sometimes get to college and are a little fried and maybe don't push as much as they once did. Or maybe they hit a ceiling while other kids really do not. Trotsky arugulaWow. Ad hominem much? My experience on bc’s campus was a good looking group. My experience with people who call others physically unattractive is they generally should buy a mirror. BearLover upprdeck just avoid BC is the goal. Omaha is hot 12-13 would mean msu of Ndak before they play with it We can’t possibly play BC, right? They’re the #1 overall, so they’d get one of the auto-bids.Right. No way would an overall #1 have to play an at large team instead of an autobid. The committee would never screw a #1 seed like that, would they?by Robb - Hockey

RichH ugarte Obviously Dartmouth is in the way and SLU is itself a solid team but my god we could not have asked for a better setup than this to redeem the season. Remember Bemidji. Those impossible tests never made sense to me until a prof explained that if a student - any student - gets a 100 on a test, then you don’t really know how much they know. You know they know at least as much as was covered on the test, but that’s all you can say for sure. It’s still useful to know on a test with a mean of 40, which genius gets the 85 and which one gets the 90. I was just gladby Robb - Hockey

Dafatone I'm kinda stuck here, because on one hand I tend to be relatively optimistic, but on the other hand I somehow hate Dartmouth more than Harvard. That’s a different kind of hate, though. To illustrate the difference: Yes, I hate both Harvard and Quinnipiac. But the ideal ECAC season ends with Cornell at 22-0 in the RS and 4-0 in the playoffs, with Harvard at 20–2/3-1 and Quinnipiac at 0by Robb - Hockey
