Re: Clarkson @ Cornell 03/10-3/12?/17 - 7 years ago
Is there video for tonight? I don't see the game on IvyLeagueDigitalNetwork's schedule... And Clarkson.tv, or whatever, is showing the Women's game only. Help!by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: Hahvahd @ Cornell 01/27/17 - 7 years ago
Someone at the game wanna explain why they didn't review that "goal" around 12 minutes into the 3rd? What happened there? Hard to tell on ILDN if it was even close.by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: Florida College Classic - 7 years ago
Just got home from the game. Very enjoyable. Larger crowd than I remember there being three years ago. Around an hour before the game was at the nearby outlet mall and saw a bunch of young guys in matching Cornell polos and shorts, clearly on the team. My first thought was "damn I'm old." and the second was "I wonder if they're stranded and need a ride to the rink."by LaJollaRed - Hockey

College Hockey Podcast - 7 years ago
Lately I've been listening to the "Hockey Goes to College" weekly podcast. Good stuff. The coverage is very Boston-centric, and pretty critical of the ECAC, but entertaining and informative, nonetheless.by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Backhands - 7 years ago
Alright, general question time. When I played (roller) hockey growing up, I feel like we spent a lot of time learning to shoot backhands. I don't see much of that in hockey. Not at the college level, not at the pro level. Am I missing something? Are backhanded slap shots just not a thing in ice hockey? It seems like every time I see a player high in the slot with a straight shot on net he hasby LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: 10/22: Brock - 7 years ago
Goes without saying - way too many penalties in the first period. Nice that the goal floodgates have opened in the second. Anyone having trouble with the WHCU audio? The commercials are coming through crystal clear, but the play-by-play has this "wonk wonk" feedback under it.by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: Bracketology Begins - 8 years ago
KeithK upprdeck if we go to albany does the Ghost of PC Drouin and a cross bar finally go away... or perhaps the goal that was overturned earlier in the game that would count now if the replay video was actually working. replay really owes is a big one someday.. thanks NH.. We'll get payback the day we score on a penalty shot. Now I'm wondering...When's the last time we scored a penaltyby LaJollaRed - Hockey
Estero 2015 - 8 years ago
I went two years ago, and about 50% of the tickets were still available at the entrance, 5 minutes before the first game. Does anyone have reason to believe it will be different this year? Who's planning on going?by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: Freshman numbers - 8 years ago
I'm pretty excited to have a player from El Cajon making an appearance. Southern California's middle-finger to nature burgeoning hockey talent brings a smile to this displaced La Jollan's face. Also, Miami sucks. Too early to be looking forward to Estero?by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: Killing Two-Man Disadvantages - 9 years ago
Bahnstorm Jordan 04 The two-man advantage is the most dangerous man-advantage in hockey. First, ha. Dafatone And here I thought this would be about former Clarkson goalie David Leggio purposefully dislodging the net when facing a 2-on-0 th.e other day Second, that video was hilarious. The O players flub the play so Leggio's move wasn't even necessary, but what puts it over the top is seeinby LaJollaRed - Hockey

Josh '99 TimV Love summer, but miss hockey. Cruising You Tube, there's a lot of fun videos. Found this one on Colgate Hockey. No mention of free pizza though. Anybody got other fun ones from opposing schools?Just because something is obvious, doesn't mean it's not awesome. I was hoping someone would find that. Re: Giving the Faithful a run for their money - 10 years ago
TimV Wow- that was great. Can we adopt the chant/tune? What did they win? Pre-season exhibition against the local high school. That was great - thanks for sharing. From 2005-2008 we stood three rows behind this British kid who assured us that if we learned his chants we'd probably get kicked out. We were pretty clever, nonetheless.by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Estero (?!!?) Roll Call - 10 years ago
So, yeah? I live in South Florida now...I think I'm going to do it. The rink is a few hours away, so I think I'll just make it to one night, but any recommendations for things to do in Estero the afternoon of the game?by LaJollaRed - Hockey

This is would be a sad rule change. One of my favorite things in hockey is watching a forward selflessly dive in front of a shot like a bodyguard taking a bullet.by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Clark - 11 years ago
"Numbnuts" !?! Can't you see this season is tearing us apart! Also, when did another La Jolla person get into this? Trotsky's warmth chart reminds me that I've been absolutely spoiled by a decade of good Cornell teams, and outstanding Cornell goaltending. As we acknowledged that the emphasis on defense doesn't always work, so too must we learn not to rely on Hobey-caliber goaliby LaJollaRed - Hockey

BMac I thought that if you're charged, it means you're guilty, right? (At least that's what LaJollaRed tells me to say to the judge to get out of jury duty...)
