RichH Dafatone My sanity versus these announcers is the battle now. You can absolutely lift a stick and keep it tied up for the half a second that a guy is trying to shoot. Now that the drunk uncles at Brown have been led out to pasture, these guys take the crown. The past 5 minutes have been about how the refs must live in Schafer’s guest house to get so many calls. upprdeck I remember a physics course at my college where in the class of 60 only 10 of us got better than a zero.. made my 16 look pretty impressive as a solid B and I took it and was happy. Trotsky WederThey ring it for big hits in women’s games, too. Which is sort of interesting because those could in theory wind up being penalties.I was thinking that same thing during our game. What if there's a borderline hit on our guy and it's in review? That stupid bell ring might just be the psychological tip to the side of it being excessive. The bell has been there as long as I can remby jtwcornell91 - Hockey

RichH upprdeck iceing, lose a draw, allow a crazy angle shot and goal then give away in OT behind the net. Lots of things to go wrong to get a loss and why is Clarkon the place so many of them happen. As the game wore on, and we kept playing poorly, I could see this ending, because it's happened before. Dafatone Surprised we didn't call time out before that face-off. Can you call time on an icing? I can't remember. That went off the center's hand and back. Not sure it's a hand pass. I was also wondering why we didn't call the TO there. Ironic to lose the lead on an icing right after two instances of waiting to gain the red line and then losing the puck before getting a shot at the emby jtwcornell91 - Hockey

upprdeck ugarte i'm sure it's cool but very few schools play it so i struggle to care. it's not like wrestling where the diversity of weights is built into the format, since all of them wrestle together. i also wouldn't care about short-guy basketball. some schools play JV football as well. TimV It seems a key factor in this ruling was "compensation" the players (as employees) receive, even though previous rulings called them educational stipends. Those stipends weren't taxed. So do player's scholarships (academic as they are) now become taxable as remuneration/income? I think tuition payments are not taxable anyway. When I was in grad school I had to pay income tax oby jtwcornell91 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Yet another collegetown bar bites the dust - 3 months ago
Trotsky billhowardThere has to be a bar type for people down on their money and bar owners cutting corners on upkeep, bathroom cleaning, lighting, and the food. (Pickled eggs are a food.) Add a couple shady characters and you have the dive bar again. Even debutantes will stop in a couple times to see how the others live and maybe they spy a hunk who appears to have showered. Cop at Lynah The Collegetown bar scene came under siege of the ABC board in the late 90's and continued through the early 2000's At that time Avarmis owned the most frequented bars in college town and his establishments were targeted for enforcement on many occasions by the ABC Board. RichH ugarte Trotsky The replica jerseys aren't great unfortunately.no need to be so harsh this looks pretty sharp for a youth jersey Maybe better than the real thing these days, as this replica has the lower stripe historically correct. Jeff Hopkins '82 upprdeck with the time Cricket takes to play.. How do they even get it done in the 2 weeks of the olympics. As he said, it's "20-over" cricket. An over is 6 balls thrown, so 20 overs is 120 balls bowled per side. Think of it as a baseball game with only 120 pitches thrown to each team. The version that takes forever is test cricket. For those of us who have ESPN+ for Cornell hockey, they're showing all the matches of the (50 over) Cricket World Cup from India. Most of the games are day/night matches with a starting time of 4:30am EDT, so there's quite a lot of play to see in the breakfast/morning time.
