At least at football, it couldn't be that hard to implement. They've got people checking tickets for non-students, and students are supposed to show their ID already. Changing the system from showing your ID to swiping your ID isn't going to consume any more time or man-power...although it may require additional wiring for the little booths the guys sit in. We keep on using Duke bball as an example, but I had no idea of the actual details, and I suspect many others don't know them either. It's my impression. They may not be. But this is why I think that. 1) They didn't change it significantly from last year to this year (with the exception of the 2 tickets per line number to 1 ticket per line number rule). 2) What I see as an unwillingness to hold themselves accountable for the mess this year. The other thing to think about is this: Last year, my group strategically took every other seat with our early line numbers, filling them in when the later line numbers got to choose. This way, we effectively blocked other groups from taking the seats we wanted. This will be a lot harder (impossible?) to do this year, obviously.
