Re: Union - 1 vs Cornell - 1 Final (ot) - 20 years ago
Gotta agree about Salmela. I hope he has a chance to play once Wallace is back to 100% (assuming all the other defensemen are also at 100%).by Will - Hockey
Re: Union - 1 vs Cornell - 0 3rd - 20 years ago
First, a question: anyone know what happened to Pegoraro tonight? Obviously, as you all know already, Varteressian was in for him, subsequently shuffling the third and fourth lines a bit. Now, some comments: - I think I'm in the minority with this opinion, but the Union goal was really just a lucky bounce off Cook's stick. The puck was deflected slightly right of where McKee expected it to goby Will - Hockey

Re: Union sucks - 20 years ago
It's not the rules that Union chooses to play by that bothers me. What bothers me is that it now becomes apparent that Union's administration (or at the very least, President Hull) isn't totally behind their hockey team, and don't try to do their best to make Union a great team; instead, they'll merely settle for a .500 team. Within the ECAC, that's all fine and good, but outside of the ECAC, wby Will - Hockey

Re: Moulson+Hynes=Paolini? - 20 years ago
Does the award have to go to the goalscorers necessarily? Not to diminish Moulson and Hynes' accomplishments, but McKee was the first Cornell goalie to shutout Harvard since 1967. I think that's worth considering when giving out the Crimson Cup at the end of the season.by Will - Hockey

Re: Game thread: Cornell 1 at Brown 2 (OT) (Final) - 20 years ago
My comments on the game: - Danis is a good goaltender, but in this game, he was not the great goaltender that his previous numbers may tout him to be. He came up lucky on more than a few bounces of the puck. At least in this game, I don't think he stood on his head any more than McKee did. (To be fair, McKee also got lucky on a few bounces.) - I have to learn to stop underestimating Brown's nby Will - Hockey
Re: Hahvahd "sell out"? - 20 years ago
It should be noted that the main game cameras were stationed on the visitors' side of the rink. The pockets of Harvard's non-students were what you saw on the screen, but that didn't show the better filled visitors side, chock full of Cornell supporters. (Harvard's rather embarrassing student fans were situated in Lynah East's equivalent of section G, while their poor sounding band was in the eby Will - Hockey

A new team for the '04-'05 season? Not likely. Unless they're totally new to D-I like Robert Morris, they probably have their own conference schedule already set up just like the ECAC does.by Will - Hockey
