In the many years I have watched Cornell hockey, it seems to me that, in the past, when the team got a little down on its luck, the fans would try to make it up with inspiration and energy. That just isn't happening this year. The more the team struggles, the more our fans sit back and throw out a "let's go red" once per period. Perhapby Will - Hockey

I thought it was a brilliant thing to do. On the one hand, it's sort of crossing a line into invasion of privacy. On the other hand, I'm pissed that we lost, so everyone on campus (whose phone numbers are masked from caller ID) should call that number and leave some nasty messages.by Will - Hockey
Re: Game thread - Dartmouth 2 Cornell 1 (final) - 20 years ago
My thoughts (rants) on the game: - I think we all already know this, but the reason we lost this game is that we forgot that the game isn't two periods long. Cornell and Dartmouth kept things about even (except for the first Cornell PP, with the 5-on-3--what the hell happened there?) for two periods but Cornell really slowed down in the third. Re: Dartmouth - 20 years ago
A tie would be funny, like what a lot of us predicted for that Vermont-Northeastern game a month or two ago when both teams were still winless. But it's not the first game of the weekend (as I pointed out a few weeks ago, all our ties came on Fridays except vs. Mercyhurst, which was the only game that weekend), so I'm betting on no-tie. I think tonight's game really is win or lose, for better oby Will - Hockey

As usual, my thoughts on the game: - I don't know how badly Moulson was injured last weekend, but it didn't show one bit tonight. - Though McKee really didn't face a lot of difficult shots, he was playing well and obviously stopped every shot he should have stopped. - While Russell's save on the penalty shot may have looked incredible, it really seemed like he just got lucky with where his stickby Will - Hockey

My friends and I will likely make the trips to Colgate and Union/RPI, but I'm not sure we're gonna do UVM/Dartmouth just because it's a long trip if there's not a lot to do up there (please, somebody prove me wrong, I love to make hockey trips).by Will - Hockey

Re: LeNeveu Fought Tonight - 20 years ago
This discussion stirs a vague memory in me. A few years ago (sometime between 1999 and now), in a game at Lynah, I remember seeing our goalie leave the crease and clobber a player on the other team, and I think he might have gotten away with it, too. The thing is, I really don't remember any other details, like who we were playing, what prompted the clobbering, or even who the goalie was. I doby Will - Hockey

My thoughts on the game: - bigredapple summed it up right--"lackluster and sloppy" pretty much described Cornell start to finish. I don't know what happened tonight. Regarding McLeod, I just checked the box scores from collegehockeystats.com and he's not mentioned once (not even for US Under-18). I also checked the roster flyers handed out at the Red & White game, and he is mentioned there, playing for the Red team.
