Re: Why can't ecac teams score? - 20 years ago
The ECAC over the years has developed into a very defense-oriented conference, which is why in recent years frequently the best goalies in the country have played for ECAC teams, not to mention a lot of great defensemen. Don't get frustrated over the apparent lack of goal-scoring in the ECAC. I think a solid defensive matchup can be much better than a run-and-gun goal orgy. It should also be nby Will - Hockey

My pointless thoughts, once more. - 20 years ago
Absolutely horrible game for Cornell earlier tonight. While it's true that Dunn's rather crappy officiating didn't help things, the fact of the matter is that Union won because Cornell played like shit for most of the game. The defense hung McKee out to dry on Union's lone earned goal. Our boys managed to adequately penetrate Union's trap defense (a far cry from the game at Lynah earlier thisby Will - Hockey

Age, I was just thinking that (about the electronic amplifiers and other stuff bands do). Isn't the UVM band using their many stupid cowbells to do the "Go Cats Go" cheer technically against NCAA rules, then?by Will - Hockey

If Bâby were to return as an assistant coach, it probably wouldn't happen for a few years. I'm sure Bâby wants to see how far he can take his professional hockey career before considering a career as a coach.by Will - Hockey

Perhaps an insurance goal is an empty-netter? Of course, I don't know why anyone would want to make special note of that. A hyphenated name! Damn, that means I'm going to have to cut down on the anti-hyphen cheers next year.by Will - Hockey

Not only was McKee ROTW twice, he was ROTW in back-to-back weeks where the awards were given (for the Brown/Harvard home weekend, and then again for the Everblades Tournament). Congrats to Hynes and Bitz, both well-deserved! EDIT: Fixed my mistake. Post Edited (02-17-04 19:09)by Will - Hockey

Re: USCHO poll 2/16 - 20 years ago
Well said Ari. "The polls mean nothing" is something of a mantra among the USCHO Fan Forum elite. The pairwise rankings are all that matters (though I think KRACH is a slightly better predictor for success and I care about that too), and we have a lot of hockey left to win if we hope to go to the NCAA tournament. My thoughts, once again - 20 years ago
Great game tonight, and obviously it was great to finally have a home four-point weekend. So, some thoughts: - Vesce scored one goal in each game this weekend, and he was still playing a fair amount throughout both games. Yeah, I think he's back for real now. - I didn't hear the radio cast, so I don't know who the stars of the game were, but if it were up to me, the first would go to Jeremy Doby Will - Hockey
Re: Game Thread: Princeton 1 at Cornell 6 FINAL - 20 years ago
It's about time I posted my thoughts on the game. (I was working last night so I wasn't able to do so then.) - It was nice to see Cornell thoroughly dominate a team at home. It's too bad that we can only do it over the bottom of the barrel of the conference (Vermont and Princeton). - I love Vesce and hope he continues to get better, but I'm really starting to like the Moulson-Bitz-Hynes line.by Will - Hockey
