Re: vesce? - 20 years ago
Guys, lay off of Greg, please. The way Zookey wrote his/her message, it sounded like he/she was personally offended by the fact that Vesce didn't play (the use of "why the hell..." and the three question marks). I'm guessing Greg interpreted it as such, and just wanted to defend Vesce's decision. Now, can't we all just get along and shout "Clarkson sucks!" together?by Will - Hockey

Mike, while I agree with your idea in theory, that the fans should be free to cheer as they want, I feel I should explain exactly why I want the phone number cheer to end. (1) It is getting old--it was clever against Dan Yacey, but the novelty has worn off for me. (2) It crosses a certain line that I don't think should be crossed when it comes to heckling the opponents. I can't really classiby Will - Hockey

Will's thoughts on the game - 20 years ago
Great game tonight. Cornell basically played the game that got them so many victories last year--score early and often, then sit on the lead. The first period was the most exciting single period of Cornell hockey that I've seen in a few weeks. - See ya, Nickerson...you goon. Too bad he didn't get tossed out of tomorrow's game too, though. - If one of our guys is going to take the fall, I'mby Will - Hockey
Re: Albany lodgings - not woofing! - 20 years ago
Last year, I was able to park three blocks away from the Pepsi Arena (albeit in a somewhat sketchy-looking neighborhood) for free, both days. However, if RPI makes it to Albany, I expect parking to be a completely different situation.by Will - Hockey

Re: Pairwise Ranking - 20 years ago
It seems like the whole idea of the RPI Bonus is a fudge factor to make sure that teams like Michigan and Minnesota make the tournament. Sure, they'll likely make it into the tournament on their own accolades (or, y'know, by virtue of just being in the WCHA, in Minnesota's case), but heaven help us if teams like Colgate make the tournament and lead to less revenue dollars. Re: Don't see this box score everyday - 20 years ago
I was actually at that game today. I've never watched women's hockey before, so it was interesting. The two teams were pretty evenly matched, though Cornell dominated the third period and overtime. In any case, we all know that Cornell women's hockey recently hasn't been all that thrilling in their record, and they'll likely have their asses handed to them next week by the Harvard(sucks) womenby Will - Hockey
Re: CU vs. Clarkson - 20 years ago
We have a losing record against Army? Wow, that's sad. At least the rest of those still active D-I teams are halfway respectable programs (well, maybe not Sacred Heart...grrr...). But Army?! I'd say that we should schedule some NC games against them sometime in the near future to rectify that, if their super-low RPI wouldn't impact our own RPI, no matter the result.by Will - Hockey

Re: OT: Clinton to be Convocation Speaker - 20 years ago
Hillary's senate reelection campaign hasn't started just yet (not officially, anyway). She's still got two years. I would think Clinton's appearances at Syracuse and Cornell are more like unofficial Democratic campaign events for this year's presidential race. Granted, the great majority of Cornell '04 graduates will likely vote for the Democrat anyway, but maybe it'll prompt more of them toby Will - Hockey
