Well, I think it's usually that the consensus #1 team doesn't win the national championship, though they may make it to the FF. In any case, that's definitely what happened here. I hate to say it, but it looks like we're looking at Threepeat here.by Will - Hockey

So there, I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. Re: If you were Phil Buttafuoco ... - 20 years ago
Well, the simplest thing Cornell and other teams can do to bring the ECAC back to national prominence is win all of its out-of-conference games, including the NCAA tournament. Barring that, the Ivies need to play more OOC games (and win them), and not just against AHA or CHA teams, either. They need to schedule more Minnesotas, Michigans, and Denvers, not to mention the BUs, BCs, and Maines.by Will - Hockey

I've got a better one for you, Rich...you sound like a sore winner (and yet, still a loser) based purely on the fact that we barely saw you here on the eLF all season, until the postseason. Some of it is explained by the obvious, when Clarkson ended up drawing Cornell in the quarterfinals, and yet you stuck around spouting your pro-Clarkson tripe a week after those games were over. Re: Conference championship games - 20 years ago
One has to wonder if either team is thinking about replacing their goalies at the moment. True, they're both doing really well, but they have to be getting tired. At least Maine knows they can rely on Frank Doyle; UMass would probably be more nervous with Tim Warner, who has significantly less playing experience this season.by Will - Hockey
