Re: Sellout at LP - 22 years ago
In the past, Cornell fans have had difficulty with Clarkson fans insisting that: "this is the seat on my ticket and even almighty god couldn't make me move from this seat not matter how politely you might ask me regardless of how many other empty seats are available in the rink 'cause this in the seat number listed on my ticket thank you very much" This was particularly a problem in 20by jeh25 - Hockey

It was a *little* soft but not terribly so. It was the kind of goal you'd expect Matt to save most the time given his great skill but yoby jeh25 - Hockey

8700 seats... - 22 years ago
8700 seats aren't gonna sell out. UVM and SLU fans will stay home. Harvard will send all 3 of their fans. Other than RPI's band and Clarkson townies, we'll have the whole place to ourselves. (Unless rumors of DC actually having fans are true. This year they've had something like 3000-3500 fans at Thompson so we'll see if they know how to travel.)by jeh25 - Hockey

Re: Higgins - 22 years ago
Yeah. He went 7 games without a goal and 5 without a point. Of course, 2 of those double goose-egg games were against streaking Cornell and Colgate and he did tally 3 assists against Dartmouth and 1 assist against SLU. By way of comparison, Paolini also had a 7 game stretch with a single goal (v. Yale) and a single point (Clarkson). So I'm guessing it is just a statistical quirk that shouldn'tby jeh25 - Hockey

[Off-topic] New West Campus Residential House names - 22 years ago
According to , "...will create five distinct houses, each named after a legendary Cornell faculty member." I think we should start a campaign to have the 5 residential colleges named after famous Cornell sports figures. Funky Playoff Format - 22 years ago
So I discovered that the CCHA used to use a top seeds *pick* their opponent format for the playoffs. If I understand it right, in the ECAC this would mean number #1 seed would pick which team 6 through 10 they want to host, #2 would pick from the 4 that were left and so on.... For the sake of argument, imagine the ECAC used this system. If you were Mike Schafer, would you a) pick the coldest teaby jeh25 - Hockey

Or what about going into the zone twisted so that your hips are facing forward but your shoulders are twisted more than 90 degrees such that you are cleanly controlling a puck that is behind the the plane of your hips. Seems rather silly to me to call this offsides just so the rule is worded more easily.by jeh25 - Hockey
