Re: Recruits 2023 and beyond - 2 years ago
IIRC Gillam was in Urban and Regional Studies. I would imagine it's a bit harder for an Architecture student to do any athletics given the academic demands and emphasis on studio time (not to mention other things such as the semester in Rome). For whatever reason, McIntyre's player profile only shows the college (AAP) and not the major, but I'd be surprised if he were in Architecture given what Iby Iceberg - Hockey

dbilmes Swampy blackwidow Maybe the vaccines caused the heart condition Maybe it was visiting North Dakota. Maybe it was watching the team blow a 4-goal third-period lead in Clarkson. IMO the UND sweep made up for that. The worse sin was looking bad against the bad Ivy teams not named "Yale".by Iceberg - Hockey

Trotsky scoop85 Just tuning in and see we're down 1-0. We're moving into "officially in a funk" territoryWe're doing that thing where we play like shit against shit opponents. Princeton, Dartmouth, Brown. Meanwhile, we played great against Q and well enough to tie Harvard. So who knows? Indeed. It's amazing how different this year's team looks without Andreev. However, there was no reason this game should've been close. Teams seem to have a book on Cornell nowby Iceberg - Hockey

Trotsky Classic trap game. Careful, lads. That and some mediocre officiating. It's too bad the team didn't have the energy throughout the first period.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Yale Game Thread - 2 years ago
Well, it wasn't too many men, so it had to have been someone who got a bit too mouthy with the officials. It's been a rough past few years for Yale, but it's a bit hard to have sympathy given where they were around 10 years agoby Iceberg - Hockey

Trotsky RichH billhoward This makes up for Cornell giving up the four unanswered goals at Clarkson. Cornell amazing comebacks, twice, at North Dakota. We led 2-1 after 1.Still a comeback, though. NoDak scored first. Key to the whole thing was Shane's stop on the penalty shot. It also helped that unlike in the ECAC, Cornell didn't need to go a man down after the miss. In the NCHC, the coby Iceberg - Hockey

Trotsky Ertel's puck control and playmaking are reminding me of Cam Donaldson. And O'Leary reminds me quite a bit of Noah Bauld. He blew right by Sanderson.by Iceberg - Hockey

djk26 Listening now to WHCU (sorry, not gonna pay $16.95 for a single game pass) Our play by play guy is very good. Surprised there is no color guy. I've been able to watch both games with that pass. It's good for any game that starts within a 24-hour window of the time of purchase. Since I purchased after 8, I've been able to see the earlier game today.by Iceberg - Hockey
Re: Second ND Game Thread - 2 years ago
Should be Shane again. He actually played well tonight and was a big reason North Dakota didn't score more goalsby Iceberg - Hockey

North Dakota may as well have five forwards out there most of the time. Sanderson is definitely the real dealby Iceberg - Hockey

Re: Opponents and Others, 2021-22 @ Princeton Sat 2/26 - 2 years ago
I was planning on selling my ticket to the Princeton game anyway since I'll likely be traveling, but if they do refund for the February home games, that would be even better. Princeton is the most heavily attended road game behind H so it would be a shame if they did limit it to school affiliates.by Iceberg - Hockey

Re: cornell covid testing - 2 years ago
George64 From today’s D&C regarding New York’s COVID mandates: “Are masks required when playing indoor sports? Yes, in the case of sports taking place inside a gym or other indoor sports facility.” . And I guarantee that professional sports teams will be magically exempt from those mandates. They're using the same tired playbook from late 2020 despite the availability of vaccines. Re: Yet another collegetown bar bites the dust - 2 years ago
billhoward At some point this will be a dead forum because how many bars remain in Collegetown that can still go under? Hardly any. I was there last month visiting a friend in grad school and all the spots I had in my head (i.e. Ruloff's) were gone. We actually had to go somewhere downtown for a relaxing place that wasn't an undergrad hangout spot. It's really too bad that bars such as Chapterby Iceberg - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Clarkson Game Thread - 2 years ago
Blown lead aside, at least it was a tie rather than a loss (although the difference is not much from what it seems) on the road. Obviously this game could hurt from a PWR perspective down the line but March is still a long way away and there are a lot of conference games left and four OOC games, including two against a top-5 pairwise team. If this team does get to the NCAA's, it'll be highly depeby Iceberg - Hockey

Re: Clarkson Game Thread - 2 years ago
Dafatone Couple times they've been generous with the icing. Generous? I don't think the linesmen for this game know what icing is. Lots of instances where a Clarkson player clearly could've reasonably reached the puck.by Iceberg - Hockey
