Re: Ticket Line - 19 years ago
As a freshman in the fall of 1968 I was oblivious to lines and season tickets, if any; I just showed up early for every game with my coupon book and got standing room. In the fall of 1969 word spread and the line formed in Barton Hall Thursday evening. Seats were chosen and tickets were distributed Sunday morning. I don't remember much to-do in advance. Things were sufficiently well orgaby David Harding - Hockey

I was in Ithaca in that era, but my memory of the Ithaca Stars has faded away completely. I do recognize a few of the names as Ithaca High School players. I imagine that trawling through the archives of the Ithaca Journal would turn up some information. Larry Baum may well be able to help out. The Green Bay Press Gazette has caught up with USCHO. They touch on all the elements mentioned here and in the USCHO article - the unusual apparent step backward from DI to juniors, the family ties to Green Bay, the friendship with the GBG president, the pushy parents, the administration's professed diappointment - but with some additional quotes.by David Harding - Hockey

There is also the issue of separating the rare unaided from the rare aided - for example, holes-in-one are unaided whereas Damon's three hits were all made possible by hits and walks by his teammates and would be considered aided. There's a fine line there - was Lemeiux's penalty shot aided by an unusual ref call or an unusual (well, obviously) act by a player on the opposing team? Is thereby David Harding - Hockey
