Re: Other News Around the ECAC - 12 years ago
snert1288 These games may not be worth "the hype". But, I can't imagine there will even be any hype with Union coming to town. To me it just doesn't make sense. There'll be lots of talk about Union coming to town. I mean, "what the hell is Union?" is still technically talk.by French Rage - Hockey

Re: Swearing at Hockey games and Ask Amy - 12 years ago
snert1288 From a student who stood in A/B from 2008-2011 I'd have to agree. There are still many creative cheers and most are hilarious. Also, the remote control goalie cheers that I've heard do still mimic his motions. From where I was standing people still yell Skate, Turn, Drink, Tab, Stop, and Bend Over. Certainly the end refrain can get dragged out, especially if Cornell is going on theby French Rage - Hockey
Re: Other News Around the ECAC - 12 years ago
snert1288 Times Union article about Union playing Harvard at Fenway Park this year. No disrespect to Union, but how can this be a good idea. Union is a small school with a poor history in college hockey (at least at the D-1 level). At home their fan support is good, but I can't imagine they have many alumni in Boston or that their fans will travel. Of course I'm biased but this game wouldby French Rage - Hockey

Re: $11 tickets for the ECAC semis and finals in 2012 - 12 years ago
Jordan 04 andyw2100 I just received an e-mail from Boardwalk Hall offering $11 tickets on 11/11/11 to the ECACs and several other events. To get that pricing customers must purchase at least 11 tickets total to the any of the several events they are offering this pricing on. Here's the text from their website, and the URL: --- 11 For 11 on 11/11/11 at BOARDWALK HALL: BIG SAVINGS ON SELby French Rage - Hockey

Robb css228 @Kyle Rose: Yeah class of 2014 Ah - so yes, 5 years of 1-and-done. 3 of the losses to Maine, including one collapse where a 4-1 third period lead turned in to a 5-4 regulation loss. To be fair, only one of the losses was an upset - but on the other hand, it was their worst of all, a 6-1 beating at the hands of Maine in 2006. See below | | | Vby French Rage - Hockey

billhoward TimV I wish I could write as good as him... I can't even be as tall as Dryden. He's so good at everything. Sort of Cornell's Cam Newton on skates. Without the laptop theft.by French Rage - Hockey
Re: ECACs to Providence? - 12 years ago
Trotsky jtwcornell91If we could somehow exchange the OnCenter for TECO/Germain/Everblades Arena, we could have a fun tournament. Re: Alumni In The Playoffs - 2011 - 13 years ago
Josh '99 Updates from an eventful weekend: NHL Douglas Murray and the San Jose Sharks won the first two games of their Western Conference semifinal against the Detroit Red Wings. On Friday night, the Sharks trailed 1-0 heading to the third period courtesy of a Nicklas Lidstrom goal, but Joe Pavelski (Wisconsin) knotted the game with a power play goal, and Benn Ferriero (BC) won it in overtby French Rage - Hockey
Re: Alumni In The Playoffs - 2011 - 13 years ago
RatushnyFan EDIT - I fell asleep for a few minutes on the Kings second goal, I'll cut Douglas some slack on that. Can't let that happen too often though! If we have to put up with one Boyle-Murray misstep that leads to a goal per playoff year, I'm glad this year it was the very first game and not in overtime.by French Rage - Hockey
Re: NCAA regionals 2011 - 13 years ago
Ronald '09 Jim Hyla French Rage Nothing like a 10 minute goal review.........So what's the other possibility, get it wrong? If you can't see definitively in the first 9 minutes, it is probably inconclusive. This. Plus it brings back 2003. Did the officials have the angle from the opposite end of the ice? That one definitely showed it over, no question; but the overhead, not so much.by French Rage - Hockey

Re: NCAA regionals 2011 - 13 years ago
Josh '99 I'm SHOCKED that Union are laying an egg in the playoffs. They NEVER do that. I was going to make some comment about how they've changed that this year as they got into the NCAAs, but remembered they basically laid an egg in the ECACs too, despite being the home team, in their usual fashion. So basically the entirety of their postseason competency was limited to last year.by French Rage - Hockey

Re: Big Ten Hockey Conference - 13 years ago
RatushnyFan Let me rephrase - it would be horrendous for all the existing rivalries and it would be horrendous for the remaining pieces of the CCHA and WCHA if it happens. It might mean more money for the Big Ten conference schools, but it would be disappointing in many ways. What's so bad about the status quo? I'm just voicing an opinion, but my solution would be to leave the conferences as tby French Rage - Hockey

Re: 2011 ECAC Post-season - 13 years ago
Beeeej SwampyYou're right, so let's take the discussion in a slightly different direction. Why does it seem that so many of the people on this board studied in the College of Engineering? That's partly because you're seeing the Engineering alumni speak up on matters relevant to them.
