scoop85 RichH Getting questions about #26 Vanek jerseys. The @SabresStore will do a complimentary nameplate exchange to Moulson through this Saturday.— Buffalo Sabres (@BuffaloSabres) October 28, 2013 Interesting quirk about this trade: both players finished their freshman year on the ice at the 2003 Frozen Four...in Buffalo. ... but only one of them got to take home the big prizeby French Rage - Hockey
Re: Cornell losing to Brown - 10 years ago
jeff '84 Just saw a stat on SportsCenter that Penn State suffered its worst football loss since losing by 47 in 1939 to.... Cornell. Penn State doesn't like losing by that much. They prefer it if you're a little behind.by French Rage - Other Sports
Re: Article on Top 10 Lynah Faithful Traditions - 10 years ago
Chris '03 RichH I came up with the "N-1" rule for that cheer, which has since been transferred to the keys. "n-1!!!" I think I did "which team" with about 6:45 left in this game. The team went 5/7 on the pp that night... that was the weekend janet reno and gary bettman both came to lynah. That year, the team won every home game by at least 3 until senior weekby French Rage - Hockey

marty RatushnyFan billhowardSize matters, too. To this point, Cornell is the tallest team and the second heaviest team. Yes but who will be the tallest and heaviest in April? Us, after the freshmen start getting some Hot Truck in them.by French Rage - Hockey

TrotskyThe fact that many other schools with fewer resources, a lower national profile, and less investment in their technical programs destroy us in the quality of their streaming services is a brutal embarrassment. But then, what the hell else is there to do in Troy?by French Rage - Other Sports
Re: 2014 US News Ranking - 10 years ago
Trotsky Twas ever thus. In any group of ten undergrads, in any school, in any year since 1850, 2 are slack-jawed imbeciles looking for amusement, 6 are skittish grade hounds looking for credentials, and 2 are sincere scholars looking for Truth (1 of whom doesn't need academia and becomes happily autodidactic). USnooze and other rankings tend to concentrate on how well the business is servicinby French Rage - John Spencer Is Dead

Jordan 04 Trotsky Kyle RoseBut, FWIW... the same is true of pretty much all sportswriters. New Yorkers (Lupica included) are no exception.Certainly. In the kingdom of the blind, even Tony Kornheiser can be king. Tony's great, but he doesn't write. He'd be the first to tell you. Alls I knows is his daughter went to Cornell, so that wins a tiebreaker.by French Rage - Hockey
Re: 2013-14 Schedule + Soviet All Stars - 11 years ago
billhoward Exhibition game as in Cornell gets to play another game and it doesn't count against the total of RS games? That's good. Especially given how things took a turn for the worst around that point last year. Maybe a game to tune up before the January run will help work some things out.by French Rage - Hockey

Swampy French Rage The momentum of the game seemed to change after the Pannell goal. Which one? Exactly. No I'm kidding. I meant the behind the back one. Maryland seemed to lose something in their step after that and the game blew open.by French Rage - Other Sports

Trotsky French Rage TimV Jim Hyla But that was back when men were men. Wow. Some of those brawls with the Fergusons were right out of Slap Shot. And you didn't get a game misconduct, you got five for fighting then came right back on the ice to find the guy again. Hey, I seem to recall Hornby doing that as recently as 2004. Jeff Hopkins '82 Trotsky Wisco was the WCHA member who wasn't a pox, and next year they'll be the Big 10 member who isn't a pox. I really like that program and its fans. I agree. Their fans were respoectful and complimentary after that amazing regional in Green Bay. The goofers at Mariucci? Not so much.
